hi you lot, i recently bought the jd still lp which was listed as the hessian cover, but found out when i got it it was the standard card cover. might sound daft but whats the difference? obviously i know the difference between a woven hessian fabric and a piece of card! does any of you guys out there have both lps ? if so a sort of description/pic of the hessian would be most welcome! regards

Well actually i have FOUR.The original HESSIAN one then the card one.A CD and a JAPAN CD which is a two CD item. They are indeed different in that the HESSIAN is hard back like a PROPER BOOK and has a piece of white cloth that seems like it should be used as a bookmark.:jawdrop:. It is not a GREAT item to own but the classic piece of advice was given to me was when i bought it from a guy in ACCRINGTON.To clean the not MINTY MINT item he told me to clean it with a DRY piece of bread(not from the bar but just a dried or stale piece of bread).Guess what...i tried it and it works like an ERASER.It actually cleared up some of the darker dirt marks.Hope this helps. The regular cardboard sleeve fits inside. Note it says "Still" on the front and not "Joy Division".

The Japanese double CD is a bit of an oddity, because despite all the extra disc space generated they still left off "24 Hours" from the Brum gig.

I was told that this pin badge was also given away with the hessian one, but have never managed to confirm if that is actually true or not:

any information on the white card one with blue lettering? How rare is that one? I own it, but in bad condition. some idiot supplemented "24 Hours" in the tracklisting with a pen and also marked his favourite songs. Fortunately it was a blue pen :evil4:

i might be wrong but the blue and white version of still is a canadian import?. buit a little known fact about the album is that it was delayed upon its release because the inner sleeves which the records slid into had been made a tad to small so the lps wouldnt fit into em and had standard white sleeves instead,if anyone has one youve got a rare un.

Wrong, the canadian release (which i own) was just like the u.k. release. I think the white cover is the italian release but i'm not sure.

That horrible white one is a UK re-issue as far as I know...
