It's a soundcheck. Nothing much to get excited about.

Well no it isn't legit, it's a bootleg ! It is probably from a soundcheck. Don't think they've ever been playing Isolation and Age of Consent at the same time (well I know they haven't).

Straight onto DAT from the mixer ?????

Would be nice to get to the truth of this. Why do I suspect that Isolation was taken from the '98 BBC recording? Interesting the blurb for AoC refers to Hooky as "Pete"...not a real fan? Of course not, given this stinks of ripoff...who knows where the other two tracks were taken from, they don't ring any bells.

Isolation live seems to have been played at all the '98 gigs, and at Olympia and Fuji 2001, and Horden Pavilion Sydney and Metro Melborune 2002.

However...the last soundcheck recording I see listed at Waterrat is for Santa Barbara 07 Nov 86...I guess after that time the band stopped doing the soundchecks themselves so there wasn't anything worth taping?

So if they are a Nooler and its legit, they will be making 2000 copies or if its jarg they paid a lot of money for fac all. lose/lose situation me thinks.

Where do you get your assumed info from ? Just because Water Rat doesn't list any soundchecks after Santa Barbara doesn't mean they stopped doing them ! They still do them themselves, always have. They probably don't have all the band on stage at any one time in the soundchecks as often as they used to these days, but they still have them. The reason for the lack of soundcheck listings on Water Rat's site is probably to do with a change in the type of venues they played after 1987 - venues that wouldn't be quite so amenable to people sneaking in and watching/taping the soundcheck.

There was only one turd in the bog at our office this morning. Didn't make it worth spending twenty quid on.

Do you believe in Father Christmas as well? There have been two this week that I know of, the one above and another that went for £14. It's crap, end of. But people really will buy anything, as the £35 quid in this blokes back pocket proves.

But i KNOW it is FAKE and even if it was REAL i only collect items NOW that are very pleasing to the eye.No cover....no novelty value and most importantly i have to buy the items after i have searched them down in a shop or market. All part of the fun.But WHY people are conned like this is beyond me.A little research or indeed a question or two on this forum would enlighten most people. Cheers ROCKET MICK:thumb:

The supposition was *purely* based on the lack of recordings listed on Waterrat, that's all. Maybe "I guess" wasn't clear enough, sorry. :(

Right, this explanation makes sense. But what in general, no need to name names, are the sources for *your* information to the contrary?

I'd thought that as they got more popular and the venues got larger, they'd just have the road crew handle it...natural ass-umption to make. It's good to see they're still involved with soundchecks!

My evidence to the contrary is personal attendance at soundchecks, for a start !

One of Hookys longest soundchecks ever ,Avalon, NYC, just before Christmas ... Later at the gig itself, it sounded like everything had been turned up to a Tap friendly 11.

Laziest soundchecker, Mick Jones B.A.D. tours, Flea did them all ( London Flea, not t'other one ) I digress... Carry on Fawlty
