Sorry, was going to edit and add that it doesn't list a 12", nor does the Factory Overseas Discography list a 12". In other words, it may very well be a boot. Though I'm not a Factory expert...

The one thing that makes me hesitate to say it's defo a boot, surrounds the seller, Kevin Whitlock. A great source and most definitely ITK.

KW wrote a Record Mirror article [and therefore pretty definitive] on NO releases years back and is namechecked on the Retro booklet for assistance in putting together the live CD. So if anyone knows, he should, and the auction comments don't indicate as such.

That said, I'm 90% sure it's a boot rather than an official overseas release licensed by Factory. As TVL says, if it was genuine, it would be referenced on Dennis' site.

Yep, that's more like it, the auction notes include..

Well, this is printed up as though it is on Factory Rec's but this looks like a not quite authorized 12" version of the double 7" pack that came out in the late 70's. However, it is very, very well done.

Would think this is nearer the mark.

Fair play, thats a very honest description above.

I have one of these, definitely a bootleg though but one of the best I've seen. It looks like a US pressing, it has nicely printed silver and black labels and sounds fine. It should only sell for £15-20 by rights. There is a bootleg of the double 7" too, from germany I think. It has been on ebay a few times too.

Noticed this item too

Does this really date from '78? I've got one that I picked up the the early 80's but I'd always assumed that it was an unofficial 'after the event' item.

got one just like it around 82-83, well after the event. the letter mentioned is from the shareholders thing too (also well after)

Re Fac2 [or similar],

The following from Mr Whitlock himself...

Mark I'm really not sure. I think it may be a b**tl*g. It is, however, of extremely hhigh quality, being pressed on very good thick vinyl and in a nice thick silver card sleeve. Sound quality is excellent; if the person or persons who made this didn't have access to the master tapes, they made a good job of cleaning up the vinyl! Hope that helps Best Kevin
