touch sampler on ebay.,...I'm not going to go richer than the current bid but someone here might want it.

...it just wouldn't be right if some Simple Minds fan or Flock of Seagulls fan got it...rather have a true NO fan get it

The tape is called 'Feature Mist' - it was distributed by Rough Trade and Pinnacle in the early 80s.

The New Order tracks are available elsewhere - it's Video 586, parts 1 and 2 and is Steve Morris fiddling with studio equipment.

The cassettes are copied onto Maxell tape, but with no official label on the tape itself.

The artists included are:

Vladimir Mayakovsky New Order Soliman Gamil Robert Wyatt The Death And Beauty Foundation Hans Eisler Eric Random Simple Minds Tuxedomoon Shostakovich Flesh

NO Flock Of Seagulls...!

I got my copy when 9it was released - I think it cost me £1.50 at the time...

Might think about that......I do rather like the Eric Random albums I have..........

Actually...I wasn't really meaning to slam either Simple Minds or Flock of Seagulls....just wanting a NO fan to grab it as it does seem relatively rare....

having a look at the picture with that it is different to mine - was that the touch magazine it was with or something?

I have a picture sleeve to my cassette very similar to the picture on the ebay article, but it's different enough...

The stock of orignal plastic pouch / booklet casettes was destroyed by a flood at the Touch offices, so it was re-issued using slightly less ambitious artwork in a regular tape box, which sounds like what you've got. On the inlay of the second edition was an address where you could write off for a photocopy of the original booklet. Wonder if anyone ever did?

it's at home, but remember it says something about electric shavers & game show set designers turning the sets around on the small bit of the inlay card that laps over the front of the tape when you open the box (if you see what i mean)

FYI: If you are going to use graphics from the http://www.niagara.edu/neworder, 99.2% of the time you can get the thumbnails by a little trick:

Say that the image URL is http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/graphics/t01.jpg

then the thumbnail is obtained by replacing ".jpg" with "small.gif", as http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/graphics/t01small.gif

Kind of what I did with your reply... ;)

Save the rainforrest. Save bandwith.

Hum, don't leave that in your car on the way home on a hot summer day !!

Well, it's for collectors really, there is no real need to have that if you have Video 586 (which I don't have because I would kill myself listening to that!)

well sure, if you're buying it now, but at the time...
