Yes, he played a Freebass track AND an Order track. Confess, I didn't hear the latter cos we left the club about 15mins before the death. Only know about the Order track cos Ness texted me. Hopefully her or yer man Reilly will comment on here?

Not sure many here will like the Freebass offering, mind. Reminded me a bit of Slow Jam - plodding with repetitive geetars. You can spot Hooky's bass trying to apply a bit of melody through the noise though. Have no idea who's singing on it mind - me and JG couldn't figure that one.

For the record, Hooky opened with covers of LWTUA and She's Lost Control (Grace Jones?) and played the likes of Out of Control, Anarchy in the UK, Orgasm Addict and 24HrPP, plus his own Temptation, Transmission and Primitive Notion.

He threw in WDYWFM as well which went down well :)

He seemed to be enjoying himself and controlled most of the "mixing" himself, unlike Ryder earlier!

Turnmills was a lot of fun last night. Didn't get home until 0440 hours but it was worth it stood in front of Hooky a whisker away.... handshakes autographs et all He was in great form and I as per usual thoroughly thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Lovely to see the old faces AL, Mr Giles, DoN , the lovely Ness there and everyone else...

However, the last track of his night he played and I had never heard it before, quite heavy guitar mid tempo, I was pissed and Hooky looked over and shouted "What do you think?" I couldn't place it. I said "Who is it?" and he laughed and shouted NEW ORDER. And then it all fitted into place, Barneys vocals came to the fore. It sounds more of a stomp than a dance and fans of Sunrise will probably enjoy it.

She's LOst Control & Blue Monday new versions were in his set with the original Transmission rocking the night!

I know no more than this as Hooky then whisked up his CDs and headed off into the moonlight jumpining into a minicab giving the big thumbs up..... ( AL JG DoN couldn't see you for the new NO track .. did you miss it??)

Good to see you again Jim! I only heard the new track on my way out and as soon as Barney's vocals kicked in it realised it was NO. Sounds amazing, a bit harded than Get Ready.

Will have Hooky pics developed in the next day or so and send them on. Loved his new hair-do - he hasn't definitely been at the anti-frzz serum!

Al, Mark and Don - hope you had an easy day at work after all the 2-4-1 beers ;)

acr and the hookster is quite an interesting combo..i am just waiting the nod from my mate and we will be there.

I'm still trying to get my work to organise a meeting for the Monday morning in Manchester, which will mean me travelling up on the Sunday, just in time for the event. Fingers crossed ! Still bloody furious at having to travel across the country late Thursday afternoon, thus missing Turnmills.
