ive just started to use ebay myself and am interested to know how many nool users actually use eaby considering the threads about ebay muppery and such..

ebay is like cheating. if you can't find it by searching and digging, you don't deserve it. lazy, rich bastards use ebay.

I've only ever really used Ebay to buy guitar bits and pieces.

eBay is ok if you make sure your not ripped off,ive had NO stuff off there that would make you cry like a baby. Ive been fucked a few times though too. Win some,lose some as they say.

I would not like to LOSE when collecting NEW ORDER items and so could not TRUST without seeing first.Therein is the problem for me when buying NEW ORDER gems.I need to see the quality of the product first.If it was only the music then i could take a chance.But i am very fussy with artwork.Therefore although i have no objection to E-BAY,indeed it gives a lot of NOOL chance to get those hard to find items,i have not been tempted yet.I don't think it a question of being lazy but going out to purchase said items is very easy in ENGLAND but not quite so for a lot of you here.I have found myself viewing the E-BAY NEW ORDER related items recently and it does seem quite fruitful.But the excitement at finding an item ON THE SPECK is always the most satisfying IMHO. i still use ebay quite a lot,cos i'm lazy! i recently found a link which took me to all the uk record shops listed online (will post when i finally manage how to send links!) i have bought quite a few rare items from these shops too. but ebay is my number one choice,its quick,easy and you get to see the goods(so to speak!). luckily i am in the final stages of my collecting obsession so i only really look everyday as opposed to every hour when i'm not at work! luckily i havent been ripped off (yet!) been near to it a few times but i always got the refund for items. it is a pain when people put their bid in at the last second or the people who use auction sentry(not mentioning any names!-bling!) but that is the nature of the chase innit! feedback is a problem for the buyer,if i win an auction i usually pay straight away so expext immediate feedback but this dont seem to happen and is very frustrating! the seller & buyer have 90 days to leave feedback,if a deal is done quickly then it makes sense for feedback to be left quickly too1 anyway thats enough from me ! happy ebaying! regards

I agree with u - feedbacks r a problems when I'm buying... yesterday I bid and won the Lowlife Factory CD for US$10 eventhough I already have a similar Factory CD but I was hoping that this CD is a UK manufactured Nimbus disc ( cuz mine's a Made In Japan disc eventhough its the original Factory UK Cd )...anyway, this seller charged me US$7.50 for p+p from USA to Australia ( wat a rip-off !! ) I have bought more than 100 CDs from USA and most of them charged between $4.50 to $6.00....never $7.50 !!! In the end, I gave in anyway, cuz I dont want to tarnish my 100% feedback rating....duh!!!

Shipping for Community is 7$, that includes the box also.. I know for sure Mike checked the prices online before I put them on the site.

I found it expensive too, but well, it seems to be the USPS which charges a lot. and that price applies everywhere outside North America..

It does seem pricey $7 to send an item to the uk! but believe me it is more expensive sending from the uk to the us/canada! regards

Just because I don't live in a certain country where New Order rarities abound means I don't "deserve" them? How in the fuck do you find an autographed Ideal for Living EP that's been in someone's closet for 25 years by "searching and digging"? Ebay's a great source for used CDs, DVDs, books, comptuer games, toys, whatever. Not everyone lives in a place with great used/collectable stores. Plus, it cuts out the middleman for sellers like me. I've got a bunch of old comics books which I could give to a dealer for 20-40% of book value, but instead I can get 80-100% by selling them myself. I don't like the proliferation of live/bootleg stuff on there, but I messageboards like this promote a kind of watchdog attitude.

And unless you've got a trust fund/ sizeable inheritence, how does one find oneself both lazy and rich?

Been ripped off once. I use Ebay but not for high value transactions - £30 the limit - can't afford to lose more!!

Have never used eBay, and I suppose I might be tempted at some point, but I've been fortunate to have found enough good stuff in record stores in San Francisco, Berkeley, Eugene, Portland, and Seattle that I'm quite satisfied with that. I can see where people with no access like that would go that route. Also, I'm not burning with a desire to have as many of every raritie that there is, which is another reason I don't use eBay.

I agree that shameless peddling of bootlegs is a large problem, but Ebay itself isn't evil, just those miserable assholes who use it to rip people off!

Without Ebay, I would never have found Republic or the BBC Radio 1 Glastonbury concert in any store here in Western/Central New York. (Trust me, I've looked.)

In an ideal world, if every New Order product was readily and affordably available, I would buy it all through a regular store or shop. However, since this is not an ideal world, sometimes I must turn to Ebay

I like ebay , get a bit overwrought near the end of an auction I've bidded in , which convinced me I'd be shit at a Sothebys type one
