I was first into New Order but then this got my into Joy Division and I personaly think Joy Divsion is probably a better band. However New Order are still a great band, I stil fail to believe that Ceronemy is 23 years old and Blue Monday is 21.

Get used to it mate. I've had alot longer than you to ponder that and it makes me feel very old. Still, not as old as New Order (yet!)

There's lots of JD fans around here, but a lot of the people here are more enthusiastic about NO. That said, Joy Division Central has a small forum with people who are the other way around.

That sounds vaguely derogatory, in the nicest possible way !

Thats kind of understandable since this is a New Order forum and not Joy Divsion. I only found it when while searching for information about the Rob Gretton tribute gig I am attending.

I actually own more New Order records than Joy Division ones but this is because their are much more N.O records about.

Not really. I post there fairly often, and some good discussion comes of it. In fact, the scab of suspected Naziism was recently opened afresh and bled quickly dry. :nonono:

Here is as good as anywhere for JD fans. Welcome Ian.

Aye - another JD fan here. Every now and then you'll get a good JD topic on here, but we've exhausted most of them avenues (nothing to do with tree's though):D

Still, if someone wants to start a few JD threads - I'll be happy to join in.

They both sound so different though however if you take any band you will probably find the music changes dramaticaly over 10 years unless you're Oasis. Take The Bee Gee'S for example, New York Mining Disaster to Night Fever you can't get much more different!

I think in Manchester JD are probably are more popular but NO more popular nationwide. In a Manchester Evening News survey they asked readers to choose their favourite song to ever come out of Manchester out of a choice of 50, 70% voted for Love Will Tear Us Apart.

Last night I went I heared that song played three times in three different places. Having said thats its also very rare to go into a club and not hear a New Order song particurly Blue Monday.
