Right, Crystal was released today..... what are your bets for where in the UK charts it will feature on Sunday?

I think that the fan base in the UK will ensure a top ten position. (beside the fact that its a stonking single!!)

So my bet will be #7

Personally , id make it #1, but with the press going mental over that Ellis-Bextor bint and the teeney boppers creaming themselves over 5ive....i think its more likely to be #7

Roll up roll up, place you bets now....

I'd say around #5 - don't underestimate a younger audience getting into it! I agree - Stonking it is. Classic NO (still sounds a bit like Paradise to me - no bad thing) but with a very modern edge. I just love that drum sound! CTD

Liv - NO stand a better chance with this single than they do with any other I would have thought. 8 years of anticipation will bring mostly eveyone out, including many musos / review writers etc.

Don't expect the kids to buy it though, after all, it sounds old'ish in a good retro kind of way and there aren't any good looking boys in the band (in an 18-25 way).

True Faith got to no. 4, as did Regret. I'd say no. 5... here's hoping.

Crystal has been getting loads of airplay on XFM (London indie station). Playlisted on the 'B' list on Radio 1, all of which most likely means a mid top 10 new entry :)

Roll on the 27th. Not soon enough.

NME's midweek prediction places Crystal at 6, which is pretty good considering the market is saturated with Shite...Look at the songs above it in the charts...Jamoraquai, Five, So Solid Crew(Yeah I'm confused as well)

As soon as I saw Crystal at No 11 in the Woolworths chart I soon decided on No 6 in the proper chart on Sunday. (My strange theory...I always take away 5 places off the Woolys chart for a cracking song)

I hope you all realise that SOME retailers aren't counted when judging items sold in relation to chart position. The HMV used to be one of them, mainly Woolworths and shit like that were the only stores taken into account.

I wouldn't mind betting Hooky's bought about 200 CD singles himself.... he was getting interviewed on Radio 2!!! yesterday, go on Hooky, give it some of that kid.
