I agree, I just have to imagine that Al Jarvis either hasn't seen Secretary or has tongue firmly in cheek. They accomplished the near impossible, making it neither tediously prurient, comedically moronic, or Broomfieldesque, it was just a damn good movie that kept out the lowest common denominator laughs, tabloidesque journalistic narration, or sex for sex sake nonsense. It was just a damn fine movie. Shockingly good, and I already came into the movie with signifigant disinterest (a girlfriend of my brother had rented it and I wasn't in the mood) and was completely won over.
All this being said, the Curtis movie will be nearly as difficult to do as effectively, particularly in terms of casting, and in storytelling. I know there's a good story there, I just don't know how one would tell it.
Confused about the intense loathing of Moby, admittedly I own none of his albums, but I've been listening to his singles since '91 and I've always thought that he does his own thing fairly well. I suppose he just grates on some of you?
