New moderator on Digital Republic

Hi everyone,

Due to Sebastien's lack of time to moderate this forum, and me wanting to quiet down a little and concentrate on the site rather than the forums, I have decided to promote WenOrder to the rank of moderator on the Digital Republic forum.

Mike has been moderating the Community forum for over a year, which will probably be closed soon, and he spents more time than me on NOOL a day (he actually has more logons than I do ) so it was a natural choice.

Congratulations with him, and I hope it's ok with everyone, Mike's tasks are mostly to move off-topic stuff and warn people when they go "too far" with our terms of use... ;) And he will be the full time moderator in 1 month as I'll leave for my vacation.

This place is gonna become a joke very quickly if you are gonna start editing and bleeping out where people swear. By doing that you will encourage it to happen all the more!

I only edited david's post as a joke. I know he was just being funny when he posted that.

Seriously though, I am no dictator. and there is no reason to try to fix something that isn't broken. My position is just a maintenance role.

Unless something totally gets out of hand, and nic is not around, then i'll do something about it. Otherwise, this forum will function just the same.

In an ideal world, I'd probably pick a 2nd moderator, from Europe, because of the timezones, it's evident we're not online when stuff happens in the morning in Europe.

But then again, it's a maintenance job... move threads, lock threads and ask people to respect the guidelines, and praise the webmasters

Oh well, we'll see what happens... what is useful with Mike, he's always online on MSN :p
