It could be worse, they could be like David Sylvian who re-records songs from albums almost before the originals hit the shops. Lots of artists have been quoted as saying that they think their new album is always their best work when they are doing it, but once it gets released they immediately start hearing things in it they wish they had done differently - I guess this is human-nature really.
The only downside is for saddo completists like me who wish they would release a proper compilation with original versions on it
