Best New Order Music Video (Non-Live)

ive only ever seen like 2 new order videos..

TPK...for the lovely Gillian...although it's kind of a live video anyway.

Run is surely the worst video ever?

1. 'Touched By The Hand Of God'
2. 'World (The Price Of Love)'
3. 'Round & Round'

I don't know why everyone likes the 'TPK' promo so much, I often end fast-forwarding it when I'm watching 'They're Afraid Of What They See', it's so dull.

'Here To Stay' video is a pile of crap, too.

Not entirely on-topic, but when I was back in Stoke the other week I saw a 'remixed' version of the 'True Faith' video on VH1: it started as per normal, but then threw in snippets from just about every NO video ever: TPK, Run, World, Regret, BLT etc, etc.

Has anyone else seen this, and why'd they do it (espec. given that the TF video is widely regarded as a "classic")?????

and the song is a classic

and it perfectly catches that new order mood

and steven and bernards haircuts (both absolute classics) are on fine form

and hooky has his botham mullet

(regret) too generic for me. My fave is World, its very cleverly and beautifully shot.

Here to stay was a pants video, though it had nice deep B&W. It made me want to go and buy a super 16 camera with loads of B&W film :)

I have never once seen the video for 'Nineteen63'. Anyone know where I can find a (cheap) copy? Is it true Tesco whore Jane Horrocks is in it aswell...?

Yes she is, it has popped up a few time on The Amp on sattalite, I managed to download it from somewhere, is it alright for me to say that!

Here to Stay is my favorite, but it's closely followed by TPK, Touched, and Confusion.

I'm going to upset a few people now... and say that I think most New Order videos are crap Personal favourites would have to be World, True Faith and Blue Monday '95 (yes! I love that trippy video!)

Touched By the Hand of God video is so funny. the band part not only makes fun of band videos, but the pointless obligitory movie promo shots are used in such a disturbing way to make fun of the way woman are portrayed in 80s rock videos. the movie style shots say nothing about the movie Salvation and the "storyline" is really very disturbing since you are given no back story. very intentional from the female director. edgy stuff for MTV, in its own small way.

Gillian looks so uncomfortable, Barney gets to ham it up and I love the absurb pseudo-guitar solo. Hooky seems to feel at home in that costume thou

to be honest, from what I've seen.... half of the New Order videos are pretty much crappy pointless "throwaway" exercise... I assume because of little cash and no band interest in these projects... makes you wonder "why bother?" if they are not gonna try.... you think they coulda got more arty "outsiders" to the video world interested who could have some fun, because the few times they did they got some cool different videos

TBTHOG: shows that they have a great sense of humour. and barney's wig is priceless!

Never seen half of them for some strange reason?,didnt realise they made vids for 1963 or State Of The Nation.

I just love the Run vid. Not only is it my fave song. But I love the vid.

The thinking behind it must have been something like: "you fuckers don't want to be in a video, well we'll give you a video." It almost looks like all the worst moments of the US tour have been compiled in this one. Plus those posters in it.

BLT, lots of stuff happening in that video. I believe some members of NO filmed parts of the video themselves.

My favourite is Spooky (though it would better be referred to EGG) :)

But I'm surprised no one has picked up Crystal yet. Is it so bad?? I like it somehow.

World gets my vote here. TBTHOG was embarrassing at the time and even more so now. Maybe it was funny for about three seconds but why parody something that parodies itself so well already?

I also thought that the vid for Crystal was outstanding; Run is simple and beautiful; Ruined in a Day is how a "comedy" video should be and TPK is probably the best "live" video ever.
