Clapham Common?! Erasure and the Pet Shops Boys there too? :ignore:

Seriously, what's this about the Mondays? Them minus SWR, surely? Which then wouldn't really be the Mondays, would it?

Shaun is doing it , not sure about Paul R ,it's being called Get Loaded in the Park , Arthur Baker is doin a set and either Graham Park or Mike Pickering too.

After the SWR documentary was shown at the Cornerhouse cinema in M/CR , Hooky was quoted in a local rag has being up for ' Ryderaid ', fook knows if this is connected , still if they can pull off another ressurection like the M.E.N Arena years ago , fair play , talkin to Bez after the Carbon/Silicon gig in Manc and he said he's been workin on some ideas and a bit of a surprise .

But yeah if SWR has a relapse and reneges , then it aint the Mondays for sure and I'd guess the reaction would be a tad hostile to whoever gets up on stage without him .

Still , for me it's got that element of will he , wont he , should he ? about it , it'll be shit or great , doubt it'll be mediocre

Mind you , if the band can't get it together and it's just Bez and SWR on the decks , I think I'll go and see the millenium wheel or some paint drying

I take it that this is one of your less desirable village greens then ?

As a poor little northern fella , the only connotation I can think of for Clapham Common is the Squeeze song featuring a windy common , and the only other common I know of features wombles and suchlike .

However we do have Heaton Park in t'north , which aint that pleasant although it does have a lack of Erasure types and errant M.P.'s

I'll get me ( kevlar )coat .....

Only cos I had the MI5's top operative with me. He can kill a man with just one finger! :eek3:

We only stopped the night cos we were terrified to head back after dark.

sounds fun. But I guarantee it will piss down that day. Always does if I attend an outdoor event!

Very San Fran Haight Asbury isn't it ? The Erasure fans been airbrushed out then ?

The info I got , alluded to Freebass , obviously me mate has got the wrong end of the stick as there is no mention of them here , never mind; the promoter seems to promise pills , thrills and a bellyache anyway , so might be best to take your own picnic comestables , I've seen those alleged caterers outside Mrs Windsor's place and nouveau east euro cuisine aint for me , I might try some local fare though , pie ' n ' mash , jellied eels and suchlike .... oh and beer with no head on it :D

Tix booked for me and Johnny G.

Missed the 15quid tickets by about an hour though, as a workmate got 'em but they'd gone by the time I could be arsed to buy a couple.

They have all the elements, or most of it, so who knows! Freebass might make it. Ask your other contacts

For the little I know about Hooky, I'm quite sure he's dying to perform on stage this summer..

There is another Get Loaded event on July 1st btw... but with Tony Wilson, Shaun Ryder, Arthur Baker...

Since when Tony Wilson does fake DJ sets? :p

I'd be curious to have somebody asking him why we never got a reply about the FAC number for Community :skeptic:

We are ecstatic to confirm that the legendary TONY WILSON will be headlining the next GETLOADED event on THURSDAY 1ST JULY. This is obviously a major coup and follows previous headline guests like Peter Hook, Mani, Bez, Mike Joyce & Andy Rourke, Clint Boon, Peter Hooton and Keith Mullin. As the former Factory Records boss, Tony Wilson oversaw the rise of JOY DIVISION, NEW ORDER, HAPPY MONDAYS, and countless other bands. He also ran Manchester's most notorious night spot - THE HACIENDA for over fifteen years… whilst still holding down his job as a Granada television reporter!! Tony’s autobiography – “24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE” was later made into a film of the same name with Alan Partridge actor Steve Coogan taking the lead role as Tony himself!!
