Why do I have a feeling it's not the only part the Cure added to A Forest?
i was always aware that u2 credited joy division as their insperation to form a band after bono and edge saw them live,i think bonos comments where along the line "we was totally blown away buy curtis".
but i had no idea that they had included any jd tunes into any of their songs during live performances.
nice to see that they are at least still tipping a nod to joy division,seeing that hooky has moaned on more than one occassion that u2 had ripped off jd many times.

They played star guitar that way a lot according to soulseek:-)...blooody good it is too, and a mate of mine is convinced that star guitar has temptation samples in the original released version....can't say I can hear em.
Was watching an Orb set on groovetech last year, and Alex openned with 24hrs. No biggie....a dj playin JD, but then if you'd HEARD Alex djing you would understand.
Les Rythmes Digitales used "Blue Monday" as incidental music on "(Hey You) What's That Sound?". This said song played live in Belgium used to be available as a free MP3 download on Crunch.co.uk website. I still have the file here somewhere and I can upload it in my webspace if someone is interested.
By the way, I interviewed Jacques Lu Cont from Les Rythmes Digitales for a music magazine when he was in Sao Paulo a few years ago. He's a nice bloke and a true music lover.
i am not sure if this counts but Kylie Mingoue did a live version of "I can't get blud monday out of my head" it was basicaly I can't get you out of my head with the beat to Blue Monday.

Anything Box of "Living In Oblivion" fame break into the LWTUA chorus at the end of "Carmen" when performing live. The lead singer's solo project The Diary had a cover of LWTUA on the debut album. This used to be listed in the cover list featured on neworderonline a while back. Anything Box also plays Temptation as a regular part of their live set.
Let me know if you want video or an MP3 of the Carmen/LWTUA performance. I am also trying to get their temptation cover on video or mp3, but it's been over two years and no success.
