Hi, i'm new to new order. This is my first post so hi to everyone here. The only album I have is the best of (UK version) what other albums do you recommend? I've heard the other tracks on the US version and im liking lets go, wasn't too keen on the others to be honest. I guess i've been into N.O for a few months now, started to download their songs and loved them all. I'll probably buy substance and I've heard low-life is good. Other than that this is my first post :) my fav tune atm is probably true faith. BLT, 1963, perfect kiss, r&r, confusion, temptation, blue monday, thieves like us, crystal, regret, world and the others i forgot to mention are all really good. Also Forget to mention I have the 511 dvd. Thanks

Alright Adam and welcome:)
Technique is probably most people's favourite album so maybe start there. the latest album is called Get Ready and is a great return to form after the disappointing Republic. Or if you want a kind of overview of new order try picking up the box set Retro. That will probably give you an idea if the back catalogue albums are for you.

There's another thread about what order people should buy the Order but I guess the only advice anyone can give you is to buy the albums in order of what tracks you like the most already as well as Substance. Then buy Joy Division albums or just Heart and Soul boxset
If you can't afford Retro (its over €60 here), get International. Also, if you think you're going to be more interested in the "commercial" songs than the rarer ones, remixes and lives, International is a better investment - I got if for a tenner in Golden Discs here
If you're in the UK - get down to your local HMV asap - they are selling most of the NO/JD albums at around £5.99 at the moment in their sale... 2 for the price of one is a goodie - I'd have to say go for 'Unknown Pleasures' first and work your way through the lot.
Then again, that's just my opinion...

I'd start with Technique then Substance, Get Ready, LL, PCL, Brotherhood, Republic and Movement.
I'd love to go back to the days when touring through the album's was such an entertaining experience, hearing the tracks for the first time.
If you want the complete experience you'll have to get all the Joy Division stuff as well, so you can see how it all started. The NewOrder story video which often pops up on ebay is essential as well - so you can see their humour for yersel
