Everywhere that has lyrics for TPK, theres a verse at the end (that actually contains the song title, amazingly for NO), but its not on any version of TPK I have. I've got the CD of Low Life in my lappy right now, and that verse just isn't there...
What versions is it on?
the Low-Life version of TPK is an edit of the full-length 12" mix as found on the Factory/Qwest single and on Substance (although appx. 45secs of the 12" mix is edited from the version on Substance). Do you have Substance? If not, press Control + N to open a new window, browse to your favorite online retail joint and order right away. Do not delay, this is vital to your appreciation of New Order.

I get my music in actual music stores still. I'll get Substance tomorrow probably, got paid today, so I may as well complete the NO collection and get Brotherhood and Substance before I've spent it all on caffeine...
The Low-Life version is a sin. You can hear Barney begin the first word of the last verse before it gets cut off. You could get Retro and hope the bonus disc is still available for a version that was recorded live for the video. But the Glastonbury 1987 performance is on the live disc as well.
Kinda of funny but I was listening to a live version of it, Fox Theatre 8/11/85, and after the first verse Barney starts to sing the last verse, only getting out the word "when" before stopping this micue.
I've got Retro, but didn't get the bonus disc with it.
Bought Substance now anyway. However I'm not sure if I prefer the Low Life version or not.
How could you prefer the Low Life version?!?!?!?!? Its like sex without an orgasim. The most important verse is stolen. Sure you get the nice reach around with the speakers taking turns at the intro but we were robbed.
Its like this. The lowlife versiion cuts out the last verse artificialy. The track is thhus a mockery of a sham.
the 12 inch edit on the Substance CD is a sin as well. they cut out one of the most important keyboard riff on the crazy outro. the only way to get the full 9 minute version is on the Substance Cassette or the original 12 inch single. the only way to hear that keyboard riff i'm talking about on CD is to play "Kiss of Death" from the second disc of Substance. that keyboard riff part is also audible on the "Lowlife" version, just as the song is fading out.
while i'm at it, the other thing about Substance i don't like is that "Hurt" is also edited. they cut out that amazing second break in the middle of the song where the sequencer keyboards come to the forefront. i LOVE that part! at least that's still obtainable on CD from the 1981-1982 EP.

I have the UK Factory and London cassette versions of 'Substance', and 'The Perfect Kiss' is edited out on there too! Seem to recall it being the full twelve-inch mix on the Vinyl of 'Substance', though.
