I can see that the rift is extremely similar however I didn't realise rifts were copyrighted.
Also didn't Barney claim never to have heared that song even know its one of the most famous songs on the planet?
I do think as much as I like some of Denvor's stuff he was wrong to sue New Order. Before he left on a jetplane (he died in a plane crash ironicaly) he most have had millions.
There's just one small part that is identical. Says a lot about Denver that he sued, and the irony that he did in fact leave on a jet plane before he had a chance to spend what he took from the band has not been wasted.
I reckon that New order arranged for JD (John Denver - ironic, eh?) to be 'Touched By The Hand Of God' as soon as he got on that plane.
I couldn't hum 'Leaving On A Jetplane' if you paid me... wouldn't want to either...
So, if New Order have 'god' on their side, let's hope the new album sells enough to be able to fund a 'world' tour (USA excluded, of course...)
