A disturbing observation is that it is the only guitar in the world shaped as a coffin

But Ian didn't need a coffin...he went up in smoke.

(damn literalmindedness)

I was thinking about this moments before--could they have done Temptation or even Lowlife with Ian???

Ian played a few chords on LWTUA. But he was no Gillian. With Gillian they could dump all the synth stuff and extra guitar freeing up Barney for vocals and lead guitar. they would have had to sacrifice Barney to the keys.

they may have had to get Gillian in anyway to do those songs as Ian was not the greatest of all guitarist's

It ( or one VERY like it )certainly featured when the band played "Everything's Gone Green"

you are stretching it...it doesn't look like a coffin. It looks like a guitar.
