On Disorder is Ian saying "I've been waiting for a guy to come and take me by the hand," or is he saying "I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand"??
I always thought it was guy until I read the lyrics in Deborah Curtis' Touching from a Distance biography which says Ian is actually saying guide. Are the lyrics in Touching From a Distance from Ian's own writings? If they are, we would have to assume that he is in fact saying guide.

does half the stuff we talk about on here really matter? no! :) It's just fun and interesting discussing the diffrent views and opinions of people. So, for the most part I'm just curious. Although it could be said that Ian saying guy could mean something totally different than if he is in fact saying guide.
I've heard that the "I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand" line was from Aleistar Crowley's Book of Thoth.
I always thought it was guide, but I did read something in one of the Standard fanzines who thought it was guy
If you have the Joy Division lyric books / box set - it clearly says Guide

Is that why the live " woo's " have increased over the years , are they linked to the relative strengths of the oft qouted pink pound as opposed to the American dollar ? Financial chicanery perhaps or just astute marketing for these post-post modern times ?

Corby's not been too bad sat outside the pub in shorts after 8 a-side footy on friday night, thankfully we've had a wee bit of rain in the last couple of days cos I put loads of weedkiller / grass growing stuff down on the *ahem* lawn in our back garden.

Jarvo...I fear that most on this side of the pond won't get half of what you said...but, I could be wrong....
In Paul Morley's excerpt in the Heart and Soul booklet, he says that Ian is saying guy. that doesn't mean Ian is saying guy, I am just saying that there is a common misunderstanding on what Ian is actually saying.
