Is that 'Ivan Ivan' written on the right 3/4s the way up? it looks more like 'Ivan Ilana'.
Brought this up as I was listening to the '98 MEN gig, where Hooky at the end of Ceremony asked, "Get anything nice for Christmas, Alex? New tape recorder and blank tapes?" and as Alex yells back "you daft bastard, Jesus!" Hooky then replies, "Pulled a Joy Division there didn't you?"
I was a bit disappointed that the Saville book didn't explain the origin of the Shellshock cover, as I've always wondered what the hell it is!!

I had been after Shellshock on 12" for ages, Baldrick managed to get his hands on the American A&M one for £1 at a car boot sale, perfect nick. The bastard made me trade one of my copies of Substance on vinyl, a couple of Stone Roses singles and a Mondays 12". Sneaky bastard that Baldrick.....dunno where he gets it from:D

I guess you must have a tape from the man himself if you can hear Alex actually talking on it? Never heard this but at the time I thought Hooky mentioned tape recorders, and then said something about condoms or durex? Certainly not Joy Division? Like I said, never heard a tape since that gig but remember Hooky having a good dig at Alex. Funny at the time.
Whoops. "No durex in there, idiot!" is what he actually says I think. Was Alex reaching in his wallet or something?
well if ya care at all, there is a race horse in melbourne,australia called shellshocked, not a bad little name eh! it won the other day paying $13 which means a few brews - nice oh yes the cover would be a wall
