hi you nut bars.
i recently managed to get a copy of the above jd unknwn pleasures " textured" sleeve album for a fiver.
the sleeve is record warn as i'm sure most are of this age.
the sleeve looks like it is textured to a degree, like a sort of hessian /fibred paper with a black gloss laquer on top.
is this what the term "textured" means or am i just talking
as usual?

I'd always assumed that this was what they mean by "textured". My Transmission 7" is as well.

Lucky bastard, I paid £8 for my Unkown Pleasures LP. I spent too much on vinyl really but I fall in love with it too easily especialy the Factory stuff.

Damn, my spanish 'unknown pleasures' LP ( on EDIGSA label ) is not textured.:\ohwell:
Apparently, the 'texture' on the UK Factory LP is different from the Oz Factory LP. UK texture has larger grids of squares with finer lines in between....while the OZ ones are tiny squares of equal sizes, very much like 'a very straight crocodile skin-like'..... Any other variations of 'texture'??? :)
Yea, I've got a smooth one too. Its a 'common-garden' UK issue and its cover is as smooth and glossy as baby's oil.![]()

And if I remember correctly, the original textured release was on a heavier weight of vinyl, but my memory maybe playing tricks on me.
Any confirm/refute this?
