There is a French band called Kat Onoma, which means "As its name indicates" in old Greek. BTW, they do great music. Lyrics are in French, English and sometimes Spanish. Very very good, and very hard to find, too. For those who might be interested, their best albums are 'Billy the Kid' (with all lyrics taken from Jack Spicer's book 'Billy the Kid'), 'Far from the Pictures' and 'Kat Onoma'.
There's this Perth guitar band named "Left Nut", which I always find amusing. The US gay punk band named "Pansy Division" is a cracker also, a play on Panzer Division, Joy Division, etc.. "Sheep on Drugs"- are they still around They put out some good tunes.. But most of all, I can't get enough of the death metal types:
Fields of Nephilium Blood Duster Death Chalice Cradle of Filth
etc etc.
The funniest element being that they're normally made up of the softest mummy's boy types you could ever meet.. Or crazy Norweigans.
Right Said Fred Franky Goes to Hollywood Pet Shop Boys
Seems to me that gay bands always have jolly names :D
They Might Be Giants Ten Thousand Maniacs The Frank & Walters ("Highly promising three piece band from Cork, Ireland, named after two tramps who inhabit a nearby village")

BTW "The Sunshine Valley Dance Band" would have been a funny name.... but...
What about "Stevie and the JDs"?
My favorite shitty names: Limp Biscuit, Korn, Staind, Creed, Sum 41, Lone Star, Garth Brooks, Lincoln Park, And You Will Know Us By the Trail of dead.
Some of my favourites are: Les Negresses Vertes The Men They Couldn't Hang Inspiral Carpets Screaming Trees Fugitives From Hell
These are names I've come across at some point or other (one of my obsessions is making note of crazy band names) So here's part one;
Deeeeep breath....
