Thanx for the link mate, i've heard a lot about John Peel over the years, but never heard his radio show, i will do so when he is on air.

No it didn't - John Peel had been playing JD since An Ideal For Living...the Festive 50s were voted for by his listeners.

You've forgotten both the Peel sessions JD recorded then ? There was demand from 78 onwards.....

Sure was. Tim, sorry, Elvis, remembers quite correctly. Those the days when you heard Peel play this stuff and you just knew something special and unique was happening right in front of you....

But not enough demand to get JD onto the list until 1980. That was my only point.

Peel's Festive 50s were effectively 'all time' charts until 1982. Take a look at the listings. What are the Pistols still doing there in 1981? Lot of competition for those JD boys to get noticed but the Curtis suicide trick worked a minor miracle to get them higher up the placings.

If I recall correctly, it even managed to get Atmosphere up to #1 in the Festive Fifty. The stunts bands will resort to....

Around 84/85 nearly every New Order song (well half of Low Life anyway 1985) of those years was in the top 50.More recently i think the only track from Get Ready to make it was Crystal- No. 9 in 2001

Thanks.Just changed back to it from my New Order live at radio 1 1984 because that was deleted for being too big although it looked quite small enough to me.I must need my eyes checked:\ohwell:
