New Order/808 State 'Confusion'

John Peel played this last night, on Rephlex Records. Sounds very much like the late eighties 808 State as we loved them. You can hear it at the Wednesday (1st September) 'listen online' link at http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/johnpeel for seven days - it begins about 1hour and twelve minutes into the show, so you'll have to use that 'skip' function.

Must say, I can't hear anything of the original in there, so I don't know why it's being billed as 808/New Order, when it's technically a cover version rather than a remix! I'm guessing this is the release to be backed by their version of 'Blue Monday'.

I'm sure this is going to be available as a Digital Download on www.bleep.com.

I'm just going to by the single on Bleep and have the mp3's. If i run across the vinyl, i'll buy that too but high quality mp3s will do the trick.

I'm afraid that is looking unlikely at the moment. A lot of labels have been added to Bleep since its launch but Rephlex has not and it is not mentioned in any news items about forthcoming additions.

Quite like the instrumental break where the 303 comes in towards the end but the rest isn't too interesting. A couple of pointless key changes grate. I don't think I'll be arsed with it.
