Local radio here in the SF Bay area has a weekly program about alternative history and played "thieves like us" this morning (I really wish they'd chosen another example...cause I cannot stand the love love love part).

Anyway after the song was over the DJ praised NO highly and mentioned that the Killers said that NO was their primary influence musically.

Hadn't heard this tidbit before (even in the killers thread if I recall correctly)....I have a feeling the new album will get more airplay than the last one now that its becoming fashionable again to play bands that were seminal in the 80's and 90's.

What radio station? (I'm also in the Bay Area). Not often you hear Thieves Like Us on the radio, so cherish the moment, even if you don't like love, love, love love love...what's it called again?

live105 has a saturday morning show 9-noon about the history of alternative music...a lot of the songs are generated by listeners is what the dj said...so maybe if we get together on this we can hear a few more and spread the love love love (arrrgghhh)

Anyway...the song list is available on live105's website.

I listen to 104.9 "The Bay Area's New Music Alternative" (or something) whenever I'm out there. Usually can be relied on for a BLT or a True Faith at some point during the day.

Actually, that radio station is responsible for getting me into Interpol...

yeah thats another good one...KSCU (college radio) 103.3 plays a lot of NO as well.

BTW I also heard a song in the gym today that took a sample from lean to the inside...at least I think it was lean to the inside...have to check...really weird...the keyboard sound and melody were exact though.
