My idea, instead of the Recycle box set why not have Substance 2002 (15 years after Substance 1987), it can contain tracks from Technique, Replublic, Get Ready and all sorts of collectable stuff, like the Making-Out Mix of Vanishing Point etc. Demo'd and other good stuff.

What do you think? They could also do a DVD version? I want to start a petition, we need this to happen!!!!!

Does anyone know what's supposed to go on Recycled? I mean it seems they've released a lot of the remixes from their music already, usually a boxset is good because it includes lots of rare things too.

Problem is, this is exactly what the best of/rest of was...!! a kind-of substance and a bunch of stuff.

I'd like to see a Susbstance 2, but again, the odds aren't for us.

  1. Fine Time
  2. Round & Round
  3. Run
  4. World In Motion
  5. Regret
  6. Ruined in a Day
  7. World (The Price of Love)
  8. Spooky
  9. Crystal
  10. 60 Miles An Hour
  11. Turn My Way
  12. Whatever is picked for 4th single.
  13. Extra Track

Who knows... but Substance was a good buy because we didn't have those tracks on CD, why would we buy this one? ;-)

I meant that like Substance 1987, the release of Substance 2002 would give the band the chance to re-do songs they weren't happy with of bring them more up to date (like Temptation 98, True Faith 98 and so on) and perhaps finish demos of songs that they never got round to releasing in the first place. I personally think the re-done versions of Temptation and Confusion were really good and were specially done for Substance 1987. I'm not starting an argument here, I am just saying that if Recycle is too big to carry on with then why not scale the project down a bit?

Whoever had the bright idea of 're-doing' Temptation and True Faith should be slaughtered slowly.

The 'Substance' of the album was the real New Order original recordings... not some cheesy remake.. I mean, listen to the original Confusion 12" then put the re-mix on, fucking hell. It should have been 'Substance' with some of the best songs fucked up just to piss you all off. As if that wasn't bad enough, they left some of the best 'B' sides off.

There's so many re-mixes out now bollocks to doing another best of, just knuckle down and get some 'proper' New Order material done. Like Nic the Blank says, everything since 1987's on CD anyway, so what's the point of doing another best of bollocks? - isn't this enough:

Substance The Best of New Order The Rest of New Order Substance 1987 Video (i.e. the best of) Another version of The Best of New Order (with Shellshock and shit on) New Order Anthologies Substance Joy Division The Joy Division Box Set and on, and on, and on...

remember, New Order are meant to be for the people, not fucking Michael Jackson arse holes.

Just while I'm on a rant.... somebody shoot the clown who knocked out Crystal musci CD 2 re-mixes... what a fucking mess. Can't New Order go back to the old days of releasing a 12" version and '1' re-mix done by them!!!

Actually, Temptation is not the original version, it's the 1987 version... and Confusion is also an 1987 mix, you have also "exclusive" versions of some tracks, like Shellshock and The Perfect Kiss (slightly shorter than the 12" Version).

But anyway.
