I have the later albums, a few of the singles, International and Retro. Should I bother spending 40 quid on the Best Of/Rest Of or just replace my damaged Get Ready and AWOL Technique?

Do it all. Also, if you're planning to spend £40 on 'Best Of' & 'Rest Of', then you're looking in the wrong places, lad.

Were the remixes of Temptation & Everything Gone Green ever on a version of Rest Of? I know they were only on the vinyl version in the UK,but what about elsewhere? Oh and you really should own ALL the albums, cos the compilaions all have stuff unavailable on the albums.

E40, not £40. HMV prices, not in sales.

I have Substance, I have Low Life. I don't have Movement or Brotherhood, thats about it.

If you really must, then get The Best Of over The Rest Of cos the only good use the latter has is as a frisbee. And €20 for a frisbee is a mite expensive.

Ah heck that's still mightly exxcy. I think I can pick up best off and rest off for around A$20 each. You do the conversions. I think its about 40 pence and 70 cents US to 1 Aussie doller at the moment.

Better getting Retro (with the 5th disc) than this actually... you'll have songs from Get Ready !

Procure Movement and/or Brotherood. the Rest of is shit, and Best of is useless.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! If you've already got INTERNATIONAL, then you'd be wasting $$ on the 'best of'.

The 'rest of' is the biggest pile of shit on the planet!! Once you hear that POS version of BLT...you'll wish you had died at birth!!! :nonono:

Yes, but 'International' is rotten. What makes it even worse is that it was a shameless cash-in catering to fairweather NO fans or those too Scroogified to purchase 'Retro', out near the same time.

If MYOB is a completist, then he should get `em all. If he isn't, then he should stop wasting everyones time with this thread & go out & buy some cake or a new blender or something...

And a new Blender equals coutless hours of fun whilst making and imbibing margaritas!!!! :thumb:

But yeah...if one is a sad and pathetic completist (Like me), then why not!!

I got International for a tenner, so it wasn't too bad for that - I wanted a CD version of Here To Stay (got the DVD).

I'd like to be a completist but something tells me I'd end up buying a few grands worth of vinyl, cassettes, CD-V's, singles I already have on numerous albums, etc.... I already legally own Blue Monday around ten times (International, Retro, Substance, and feck knows how many 80's/electro compilations)

Take note: completeists purchasing the wretched "Rest Of" will only find themselves hoisted by their own petard. :)

Save your money - seriously.

A completist must own 'Rest Of'. If he doesn't bother, then why bother making an effort with the rest of his collection? A true completist attempts to get as much original material as he can on at least one format (CD, vinyl etc), even if that means buying crap like the remix album.

I will say though, that MYOB should get the pink 'Rest Of' double CD w/ bonus 'Blue Monday' remixes, it makes the whole thing slightly more bearable than the standard single white 'Rest Of'. The pink version is rarer & more collectible, too...

International was meant for people not in the UK or US... basically those who didn't get the "Best of"......

Although both have been released in Canada... ah well...

Both sold here too. International may have been an import though.
