Which sleeve do you use for your Low-Life CD?

...I got Steeve on the sleeve, or Steffe or Stiff or Steph...

...and I wonder, if you have received anything ?...

Never had the urge to swap them around. Mine is probably still on Steve. Can't say I've played it for ten years.

I think it's a crime to fold CD sleeves :) So mine remains with Stephen on it.

The only CD where I changed a backcover vice-versa is (The Rest Of) New Order (with the Blue Monday '95 extra-CD-single). So the list of songs is now inside, while outside there is that Blauer Montag cover. I think that's more fair, coz it tells right away that besides The Rest Of (frontcover) there is Blue Monday too.

Mine had Bernard on it for some strange reason and that's how it has stayed.

What do you mean...FOLD CD?

As long as you wear plastic gloves when replacing ONE photo with another it should remain MINTY MINT.Ensure there are no windows in your home OPEN to eradicate dust and contamination.Also wash your hands first.Rotate the sequence of pictures each calender month so if SUNLIGHT attacks them they all FADE at the same rate.Then you could even try to PLAY the CD but i won't recommend that without your parents guidance.

I use Gillians and I do like Steve's a lot. Both of them look a bit eerie and arty. Fun sleeve.

He's refering to the fact, that on the UK releases at least, the "sleeve" is four seperate photos and not a fold as someone else seemed to suggest.

Steve's pic, mostly so people who don't know can go "Is that the lead singer?"

I've turned the cards backwards on mine so as you just have the Ordnew wording on a plain white background. I know what it is so F anyone else looking at it - prety obvious once you open it & look at the CD!

Me?!?!? nah....

I've got Lowlife on tape. its in a white card box type thing, and all it says is New Order Lowlife on the front and got the fac no. Then inside you get these cards that are all the differnt covers, and the track listings etc.

I've got Brotherhood and Substance in the same type of white box. I've wondered in the past whether you can get the other albums in these boxes, and even whether they're genuine (bought at a record fare you see) anyone know?

only got them three myself,i know you could get some acr tapes in the same kind of box,remember seein em all them years back,purple if my fried brain serves me corectly!

At the start of the Lowlife one its got a quiet sample, some bloke saying something about "the lowlife". i think they had to take it off or something.

They took it off? When?? It's still on my Japanese LP and my US CD. I can here it clear as day especially when I got my record cranked up and thumping the house!!

it was second hand information. a friend told me they took it off, probably to make me think i had something of value.

The canadian version as well, I didn't know the US version was different though...

Its very very likely my Low Life is Canadian, or German, or anything but the UK. Records stores here get stuff wherever they can, which is why International and Retro are sold side-by-side.

Second vote for non-ownership of the Low-life CD.

I usually have Steve on the front because that's the way Peter Saville designed it, but i do change them around sometimes, usually putting Gillian on the front, but Barney and Hooky have had their turns.

Steve on the vinyl, Barney on the cd (doesn't ever get changed 'cos I like that particular picture a lot)

The Low Life white casette edition had different pics from the LP and CD did it not?.Factory did a whole host of the casette boxes for Durutti Column ,Stockholm Monsters etc.

The style of lettering Saville used on Low Life(and Perfect Kiss and Shellshock also) took off in the mainstream afterwards i.e advertising etc.Another example of Saville`s massive influence which we see everywhere today.
