Good night for New Order spotting on UK TV last night. First of all Crystal was used as the intro to "Style" programme "What not to wear" on BBC 1 and then on SKY 1's "Tim Lovejoys Allstars" Mani from Primal Scream voted Peter Hook as his number 1 bass player and a video clip ot the master in action was shown.

Ok so I know that I'll get hell for this but...

on the way to dropping the kid off at school this morning, Pictures of You by the cure came on the radio and I was thinking about how much that sounded like a hooky bassline in that song.,..as a matter of fact I doubt the album Disintegration would/could have happened without hooky....

go ahead an slam me for bringing up the Cure but it was only in reference to NO

Didn't notice that, must pay more attention to the TV when my mothers watching it in future.

I did, however, see a scaffolding van go past with all its logos in the font from the World single (I think), and I could here the TPK frog chorus from inside as I passed on my bike.

Not quite NO, but I did hear Love Will Tear Us Apart on Portland's major alternative station at about 1:05 pm PST. Much, much better than hearing the Chili Peppers every other song!!!

I always thought that the start of the 12" version of "Pictures Of You" was a rip-off of Hooky, and when i bought it, it didn't bother me in the slightest.

'nother spotting/reference.

Was reading Douglas Coupland's "Polaroids from the Dead" and he mentions that these two kids make a mad dash from the Dead show to their car wheret they immediately play New Order to wipe away the hippiness :evil4:
