Hi, I'm a new girl so be gentle with me please!! I was reading about Bar Cuba in the local press at the weekend. Apparently it is co-owned by Hooky and Mani from The Stone Roses, and a few of the old Hacienda DJ's play there on a regular basis. I was just wondering if any of the Northern on-liners had ever visited, and if so, is it worth checking out?

Funny, just looked at ticketweb and found out that the legendary dutch guitarist Jan Akkerman played at the Bar Cubalast week(22nd)!Nice. I also saw on the 16th of this month there was a very special guest. Anyone know who that's been??

Heard last night from 'sources close to the band' that NO will not be appearing at Bar Cuba.
OPTIMISTS CORNER :Of course that could be a bluff because too many people have got to hear about it.
PESSIMISTS CORNER: The promoters floated this rumour to sell tix & now that objective has been achieved they are back peddling & trying to realign everyones expectations.
Given that Hooky is a part owner I still wouldn't be surprised to see him turn up at some point or other. But the whole band + entourage..hmm, hope I'm wrong, but the source is pretty reliable.
