I was considering getting this. Does anybody have an opinion on what the mixes are like? Is it really worth getting?

Depends whether you like Acid House or not... If not, then you'll probably agree with Seb...

If, like me, you do like Acid House music, then it's an essential purchase! :p

I love Acid House but I'm not fond of remixes that have no resemblance to the original track. They might as well be used as 808 State album tracks

They might as well be used as 808 State album tracks Maybe so but there are several instances where NEW ORDER have inspired REMIXES that have not much in common with the original track. In this case i think they have captured a certain mood that i can appreciate and that is all that matters to ME.Some remixes eg RUINED IN A DAY are absolute BOLLOCKS and i just don't like everything NEW ORDER just because it has their name associated with it.But MUSIC like ART is DIFFERENT for everyone. Most times one either likes it or doesn't or couldn't give a toss about a song.To me most of THE BEATLES songs leave me cold,ELVIS is OK sometimes,U2 iffy and THE DOORS.......BRILLIANT.But i don't think you can ever tell anyone what is good or bad.I tried once with NEW ORDER and the guy i played records to just said SHIT!Last time i will play ROCK THE SHACK to my dad. Probably not. No label would put up 96k mp3s of all tracks on a CD5 they are trying to sell - even though Peter has a label. My guess is that it's a fan-made bootleg what 808s silently accepts.

Definitely not legal - fan mixes (although not bad mixes)! :)
