Hey Jeff, I am the one that brought it up. They do have a lot of good stuff on there, huh. Especially on "The Alternative". I went out and got a DVD recorder, so along w/my DVR I can get a complete DVD full of NO and Joy videos. So when finished I look forward to making copies for NOOLers. Glad you checked it out.

They do play quite a bit of NO/JD on VH1 but the amount of crap you have to listen thru in order to catch one of their songs is painfull! - its easier to watch a video or DVD of the band

I have had VH1 Classic for five years and have only ever seen Blue Monday and LWTUA on it, once.

It may differ in america, but VH1 classic over here is useless in my opinion. Best off with the AMP, MTV2 (on a programme which isnt dedicated to nu metal crap) or dare i say it, Q, when that isnt playing "hip Hop", whatever that is...

MTV2 have actually got a show now with NO ADVERTS ! amazing

I completely agee Don. That is why I just record it w/DVR and then "super-fast" forward through all the shite until I see something good. The DVR package w/any cable box is totally worth it.

In the states, MTV2 has just become totally hiphop.

I finally got MTV2 on my cable system, and right after the indie rock stuff got bumped for more of the same hiphop crap. There are like 3 videos per day of anything 'alternative' now. Pretty soon, MTV2 will be like MTV... I bet it will just have Real World reruns and no videos in 2005... maybe they could start up MTV3, and then by the time I get it in 2010, it will suck too...

Pretty soon, VH1 Classic will also just be hiphop.

Rock is dead... we all need to start wearing sweatsuits.

Can't there be a channel for modern smart rock?

I agree with this. VH1 classic is a complete waste of time. VH2 is pretty good though!!!

MTV2 used to be good, but I agree that the last few times I've seen it it's become Yet Another Hip Hop Station. And, being an unrepentent segregationalist, I can't abide by it :p

I've seen LWTUA and the Blue Monday TOTP performance on VH1 Classics. That's about it

Tuned in last night and they had some kind of alternative hour, or something like that, and caught the tail end of that. Saw the Jam's Absolute Beginners (pretty cheesy) and Violent Femmes' American Music
