according to Les Inrockuptibles (argie edition) Todd Eckert, producer of the forthcomming movie about the life of Ian Curtis, denied that Jude Law would play the role of the singer. according to the source the actor was too old to perform Curtis. it also said that Moby won´t be the musical consultant either. which is a good thing IMHO

now, let´s start thinking all over again! :skeptic:

I would have to agree that Mr. Law is too old to play Ian. However, I think he would have done a fine job at it. I can not complain that Moby will not be consulting either.

So who should play Ian??? Any thoughts? I just hope it is not some Spiderman, Hobitt or Donny Darko. Those guys just wouldn't fit.

I would have to agree w/Hooky and vote Sean Harris again.

Sean Harris is my favourite too. Although I wasn't even born when Ian Curtis died Sean Harris played a charector which was described in touching from a distance. When you watch 24PP apart from all the false story lines you can believe that Sean Harris is Ian Curtis.

sure, sean harris was fantastic but who do we have to compare him to, really? ian curtis is hardly up there with james bond in the 'which actor is better' stakes (at least not yet)!

I just thought he did a good job portraying him. Not that I am actually old enough to really no what Ian was like. Basically just going off of what Hooky has said about Sean's performance. And Agent, you are right. We have noone to compare to him, yet!

personally i thought sean harris was appaling as ian, both on and offstage. he was nowhere as enigmatic on both counts, dig out the vids and you will see that he came nowhere near to emulating ian onstage and i mean NOWHERE,others in ere will argue otherwise but they are clutching at straws and they know it. as for jude law (thank fuck) i say, ive just watched "sky captain and the world of utter bollocks" and if thats the best he can do then the film is better off without him. get rowan atkinson in i say.:uhoh:

My thoughts: So what.

Seriously, I'd like to see Sean Patrick Harris (Doogie Houser MD) play Ian C. That's be a hoot!!!

(Actually, seeing some of his recent work in CSI has really impressed me with him being able to play in darker roles.)

Edited part: Or is it "Neil"...ah fuck it!

Peace out my gangsta pimps beeyatches!!

saw him in an epsiode of Criminal Intent the other day, did a great job as an absolutely sick mother******, he's really trying to stretch.

As for who could play Ian. No one. Who on the planet reminds you of what you know of Ian? I've never met anyone in life, or seen anyone in the media who seemed at all like him, of course I didn't know the guy at all beyond what I've read and seen.
