Cambridge gig - a breakthrough!

Been doing some investigative work as to this mysterious gig, and have just had an e-mail from a Rachel White, who attended the show. She wasn't a New Order fan, but went to the trouble of asking her then-boyfriend (who is and who also attended) what they'd played. The result was this set.

Elegia ("pretty sure it was this") Sub-culture Love Vigilantes Lonesome Tonight Your Silent Face unreleased one (probably "As It Is, When It Was" he thought, which was unreleased at the time) Confusion Sunrise Ceremony Blue Monday

He thinks this is the right order, though it's been a while! Apparently there may be a tape out there, the investigations have taken a further turn into the alumni network....

18th June 1985, it was the New Hall College summer ball, the "Pink,Punk,Pimms" Ball.

hmmm....I actually think that I may know the girl that organized this show....she mentioned that they had brought NO in to play some sort of show at their college in a ballroom....that they were drunk and obnoxious...Her husband is a coworker of mine and they live in Tokyo...I'll see what other info I can get.

Great link , excellent photos from the gig, You just have to believe that if a tape surfaces of this it must contain some great barney ad-libs

just got another independent confirmation from the woman that set the gig up for the school...

I'd say being drunk and obnoxious is just about the only reasonable way to behave in front of a bunch of Oxbridge wankers.
