I seem to recall someone here a long time ago referring to YO remixes that were never released. Are there such things?

Young Offender by the PSB's was put out as a remix package despite it not being a single (according to Neil Tennant the best PSB remix ever done). It might be this that you'd heard maybe??

I was aware of the PSB YO but not that there were remixes of it; that was the last PSB album I bought. I thought though that the references I think I'm recalling were to NO YO.

...was it really a remix of young offender ??? I remember an album track of the PSB's on one of their albums with the same title...i guess it was the "very"-album...(the one with the terrible "Go west" on it)...

the NO YO is a different song completely to the PSB YO, which incidentally was the only song I like on Very

Re PSB YO remixes, I see there's a Jam & Spoon Trip o Matic Fairy Tale Mix; were there more?

PSB Young Offender remixes certainly do exist, but getting back to the original point, I also recall hearing of remixes of NewOrder Young Offender.

It's all a little hazy now, but I can definitely remember an article appearing in the NME circa Republic. Hell, I may even have the copy somewhere in the garage amongst the old 2000AD comics and Sam Fox calendars.. I recall it stating that remixes of several Republic tracks (YO was mentioned) had been recorded and that they may be released as a remix album at a later date.. I assume some of these mixes were used as b-sides for singles, however I tend to believe that somewhere in a dusty London vault other as-yet-unheard beasts do exist.

The masters would be rather collectable I would imagine.

I seem to recall that the NO YO remixes were referred to (here) as "the infamous Young Offender remixes." Or maybe it was "notorious."

Damn these rumour mills...

I'll be hearing there are unreleased remixes of Special next ;)

Well funny you should say that... why not dig Massive Attack's 'Unfinished Sympathy' out and compare with Specialist Instruments... I'm sure you'll find it difficult to differentiate between the original, i.e. who wrote the song first? (and here's a clue... it wasn't NO).

MMmmmm....
