Anyone have a decent recording of the Belfast gig ( 85/86?) I have a tape of it somewhere, but it's about 15th generation, and beersoaked and just plain worn out. Not an astonishing gig, but has some great moments, and good Choral singin. Know a couple of people who were there, and have relayed the following (possibly bullshit) tale; apparently the Cocteau twins supported them, and some arseholes were spitting on them. LizF. bless her, said " spit on us once more and we're going off". In response, the front 5 rows or so let fly some "greeners" in unison and drove them off. Now while I HATE HATE HATE gobbing, and rather like the Twins, and while I am appalled at the lack of hospitality allegedly shown by my kinsmen....you have to admit.....it was NOT a smart thing to say in front of a coupla thousand baying neworderists.."hey, gob on us and NO will be on sooner" is probably how it was received. DOH.
Anyway, there are too many people on here who'd think nothing of making me a CD and burning it and sending it, it's not fair. i have nothing they do not alreay have, nothing to reward their generosity with. I end up feeling like I am taking advantage of their good nature. So a link to some mp3's would be a much nicer thing, or some other electronic means.
