Wondering whether anyone is picking up the Pumped Full of Drugs DVD tomorrow? Any Japanese members or anyone securing an import? Please leave us some feedback with news of extra features, video/audio quality, (I'm assuming it'll be a PCM stereo transfer), etc. Of course you'll need a multi-region player or Region 2 player to view the damn thing (OK for Euro fans)..

Also, has anyone heard whether any other countries are releasing it? I'm keen to import it, but hmmmm.. it's a lot of notes..

Found it : amazon.co.jp..ahem, but I don't get a word of what's being written on this page to place my order...

BTW, 3800 yens makes about €34.5 (£22)

I preordered it ages ago from HMV Japan, it should be here soon as it comes out next week I think. If you look for the thread I started about six weeks ago you'll get the hyperlink to the page where you can Order it. :smoking:

It's also available from here (in English this one). http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=COBY-4138

The HMV site is in English as well if you nose around for it.

So come on... who's got it let's find out about it.

Oooh good. Do let us know what it's like. I think HMV send it via FedEx which unfortunately means they'll probably add their own annoying customs/tax fee onto it. Well into the UK anyhow. So I'm going to make sure if I order one it comes by regular airmail.

Not sure about the regular airmail from HMV Japan, mate. I had no choice and had to pay for FedEx transport, which nearly doubled the initial price - aarghh..

Yeah I think HMV only do FedEx; that CDJapan lot do AirMail but their site looks pretty dodgy to me so I don't fancy using it. At least I've heard of HMV. Anyhow at least FedEx will get it to you nice and quick!

Mmmmm... NICE looking cover though. Different to the VHS I think.

Actually, the japanese VHS already had this sleeve, according to this site.

Can anyone tell me if it has a regional encoding on the dvd?

It should say somewhere? Because I bought Pet Shop Boys Nightlife dvd and on the web page it says regional encoding 1 but on my dvd it says "no regional encoding" so I'm hopping I could get New Order!

Well, Region 1 is fine for Canada :)

Anyway, you can always buy a DVD player that is multi-zone...

But am I the only one who thinks this costs a lot? Damn Japanese imports.

Well I was hoping one someone like Towerrecords or Amazon.com/co.uk might import a bunch somehow. Save me ordering direct from Japan. So maybe keep an eye on those sites.

I was under the impression that this was a region 2 only release at this stage (ie. Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East). Otherwise you can't play it without your regional lock removed.. Easy to get done- under the counter-for a small fee..

The thing works out to cost a small fortune in Aussie dollars.. I could buy an outback pub for that much ;)

But I gotta get this darn thing...just like 3 16

but first i gotta get a multi region DVD player,

unless there is a way to tweak my dvd on my computer...oh well

Well, for sure, I won't buy such an expensive DVD if it's just the VHS I know by heart.

I mean, on 3 16, there was the Reading show and the interview.

Don't forget to tell us if there's any extra feature...

That depends on your decoder card Jim. Most cards have a patch that you can download which will make them work as 'multi-region'. If you tell me the name of the card I may be able to dig up the patch for you. :smoking:

Just recieved it this morning. Insert lists 10 tracks, no. 1 being 'opening music', followed by the same nine tracks from the vhs and unfortunately the performance is'nt any better for seeing it on dvd. I don't think it was worth what it cost as i've always thought it was a crap performance anyway, but there you are. The disc is coded region 2. :smoking:

Muffy..

Thanks for the info. i'm not sure what my card is (or where to look either) but I will look for the info tonight and send you a reply. Again, thanks...i'm desparate for 3 16, and i don't want to wait an eternity for it to come out in USA

Go into the control panel of your system, click on the 'system' icon, then the 'device manager' tab. That will bring up a list of the devices in your computer, click on the one that says 'sound video and game controlers'. The name of your decoder card will be in the drop down list. :smoking:

Those are both sound cards Jim. It looks like the dvd player on your PC is a software one, in which case there should be no problem getting a hack to allow multi-region playback. Do a search on the net for 'multi-region dvd hacks' and see what you come up with, like I say, it should be easy. :smoking:
