I'm wondering if you can relate the origin/chronology of the "new" Revenge tracks featured on One True Passion V2.0. The liner notes don't really give much info on the previously unreleased tracks. Are any of them related to the unreleased Monaco tracks that were featured on your website?

I have a whole disc full of unreleased Revenge/Monaco tracks I acquired whilst doing the official Monaco site in 99/00. The original intention (from Pottsy and myself anyway) was to make them gradually available online so fans could download them. Unfortunately after Monaco split (New Order then returned very quickly) the site gradually faded away due to lack of interest, also from Monaco themselves. I think only four songs made it into the public domain, and they were: The Wilding, Glass Box, Microbes, and Smoothie.

From the material I have I can tell you "Underworld" from disc 2 of OTPv2 was originally given to me titled "The Wilding", and the two are almost identical other than the Underworld version has an edited down drum intro. Obviously it sounds very different from the final "The Wilding" track 2 on OTPv2 disc 1, but if you listen carefully the lyrics are identical in places "And when I do fall for you, I'll find the strength to pull through" etc. In addition to the original “The Wilding”, I also have a track called “Country Wilding”, which is yet another demo version of the said track based around a more dreamy arrangement. Pottsy told me The Wilding was a post-Revenge experiment originally, I am unsure of dates. "Pumpkin" from disc 2 (the best of the unreleased tracks IMO) was given to me titled as "Microbes", and aside from the title the songs are identical, so nothing new there. “Glass Box”, the Happy Jack/Sedona hybrid was obviously more Monaco territory so Hooky probably thought it would not suit inclusion on OTPv2. The final short demo “Smoothie” was not on OTPv2 in any form as it does sound like more of an outtake from the Music for pleasure sessions than Revenge.

I have more information and I’m wracking my brains as well as checking my Monaco MP3 folder as we speak… I’ll add more to the thread as I remember more, perhaps even share out a track or two. Or if that doesn’t happen supply clips for Nic to include in the music section. As well as the Revenge stuff I have CD sourced Monaco See-saw mixes, a complete soundboard recording of the 2000 Amsterdam Melkweg gig, and numerous “alternate” versions of tracks from the second Monaco LP, all MP3 archived.

They should all see the light of day at some point I hope! :)

I'll have to dispatch a team of commandos in several un-marked, black helos to his location...

Mission: 1 - Seize items previously salivated over; 2 - Terminate subject wit extreme prejudice; 3 - Deliver good to the world (Or at least NOOL)

But I totally understand Ally about not sharing it... he had a good relation with Pottsy and Hooky, so why screw it up anyways.... (how many emails did you get yet Ally? )

I'd personnally be very happy to hear the acoustic demo of 60 miles an hour he has somewhere ;)

But I think many people learned a lesson about leaking unreleased stuff, I think when Crystal has been "pre-released" on the internet 6 months before its release, somebody was probably very pissed (no bound with Ally BTW)

 That's me triple locking the door tonight

However Nic is right to a certain degree :( I can't really just open the floodgates and let everything out as alot of it *was* given to me under the strict instructions not to share. However I might send Pottsy an email to see if he has no objections about sharing out some of the Monaco demos in proper MP3 form. But I'll definitely look into doing 30 second clips anyway, they seem harmless enough. I remember Crystal coming out and getting my copy of the MP3, I think heads were definitely rolling about that in certain circles. (Although it had nothing to do with me AT all) Plus with 12 year olds getting sued for downloading a few nursery rhymes these days, I am a bit more wary of simply posting stuff. I will talk to Nic about the 30 second clips for NOOL, there'll be alot of them ;) Then hopefully a "track of the month" or something after that if Pottsy seems willing. I think we as fans should have access to this music as it's interesting to hear and not particularly valuable to anyone other than us. Some of the tracks must be approaching ten years old.

Ally, you should ask Pottsy about the live gig, I'd sure love to have that one...

Cheers for pursuing this Ally. I think we'd all love to hear these studio and live tracks. Hope you and Pottsy can work something out.:thumb:
