the most uncultured place in the UK. While down in Preston this week, 'North west Tonight', or whatever the evening news slot is called, reporting this fascinating finding. More interestingly tho' they countered the finding by showing excerpts of Noddy Holder and live Joy Division (might have been shadowplay). The Newspaper report on the same story, again in defence, also referred to Macclesfield as very popular with german and japanese tourists when visiting 'cult singer' Ian's hometown.
