I've just been reading Cabaret Voltaires tour dates in Spain '84. http://www.brainwashed.com/axis/cv/live.htm
05.07.84 Etole, Madrid, Spain with New Order
06.07.84 Palma Club, Valencia, Spain with New Order
07.07.84 Studio 54, Barcelona, Spain with New Order
10.07.84 Marbella TV Studio, Spain with New Order
12.07.84 Pacha, Valencia, Spain with New Order
This last date doesn't appear on this site or Waterrat and the forum search hasn't thrown anything up. Is this an error?
Yes it's a mistake. The Pacha and the Palma are the same venue, and it was the first date listed when they played (I have a scan of the ticket).
There may have been two Madrid dates though. A guy who went to a Madrid show contacted Spotnick a few months back to say that the setlist we listed on the site was wrong, and that they hadn't played those songs. I have a tape of the gig with that setlist. The supposed venue for 5 July was the Rock-Ola. It couuld well be that the Etole gig is the tape we have, and was the 4th July, and the Rock-Ola was the 5th July (meaning we don't have a tape of it!).

What did they play Doug? And have you ever seen a tape of it?
At the time Blue Monday was their only song I was familiar with.I was seated at the Knight centre sec. 001,so I was close.To me the band looked like bikers.From what I've been told no tapes of that show exist.I was very impressed by their fan base in Miami.That was before I ever heard of the term Goth,seems almost everyone was dressed in black.A lot of top notch females there,thats my recollection.The next show in 1989 was more corporate.

nope, never seen a tape of that one. More's the pity, because the last date on tours has usually been a good 'un, if other tours are anything to go by.

I recall running into the CV listing as well, and think I emailed about it...thanks about the info re. the 4 Jul 84 Madrid date...hope we find out more.
