Surely nobody was under the illusion that we'd see a new album before the end of febuary anyway?! 
Certainly no time for a single before christmas now, so we are looking at late jan early feb before the first single hits the shelves (at least!)
What's new in this? I told you in October that they lost one of their producer and had to work until November to finish the album... nothing new here :D
It means Stephen Street is gone though... unless Poptone did an interview with John Leckie just for fun.
Its still early days yet-they could announce details tomorrow,or next february. Its not like they`re U2 where the album is announced early to gain maximum publicity. We could have a single before christmas easily,time will tell.
im a bit disbelieving of that Teletext article that said February.anyway ive got Doves new album to look forward to in Feb so i`m getting excited about that more.
C4 teletext are usually pretty acurate. But as it's NO, then it's very unlikely the album will be out on time. And by all accounts, thanks to Phil C's work, we're probably lucky it is even due out in 2005.

How come you've got "New Album Confirmed For February" as the main story on the front page then?!!! The truth of the matter is that nobody knows exactly what stage the new album is at. There's far too many people quoting "very reliable sources close to the band" which makes me chuckle every time I read it. These are probably the same "sources" who back in September insisted that Hooky was cancelling all DJ engagements (including mine!) to concentrate on the album. What happened?..... Hooky cancelled nothing and appears to be doing about two DJ gigs a week at the moment!
Lot's of folk out there love to hint that their privvy to more information than they actually are. The album will be out when the album is out. The management will be in touch with the press with details before they're in touch with a fansite.

Agreed,however teletext are the press so its likely to be true-i personally have never read anything on there that didn`t turn out to be true.

Well, it's Hooky's word actually, but usually "a source close to the band" means... shut the hell up or you might give trouble to someone who still wants inside information

Apparently, he did manage to do them, however I believe he cancelled the OCTOBER date for "Get Loaded" and still did the November one... so the info was true, however he did forget to mention your own gig... or I did report the news a bad way, and I did appologize for that.
But the word is still, the band wants it out for MARCH, I'm surprised to have read February though, I believe we'll see a single in February, not the album, because I know for a fact the band did rush in studio to make the March thing a reality... so February seems too soon for me.
But again... take it or leave it, it's New Order, they can postpone again and again...

There was no October date for Get Loaded. He cancelled nothing. Whoever the info allegedly came from it was false.

Lets face it-we are so used to thinking "the new album is miles off" that we just cant accept its only 3 months away. It will of been 4 years since Get Ready-thats a long time between albums,EVEN for NewOrder (its normally 2 years,if you dont include the gap between Repugnant and Go Steady). they filled the 2 year gaps with non album singles,and when they had a 3 year gap between Technique and Republic they put out 3 side project albums,and the football single. There hasnt been any side project activity since what,Twisted Tenderness in 1999? nor any singles since Here To Stay-which was meant for GR anyway! Right,ill stop now cos ive forgotten the point im trying to make!

Is your point Steve, that they've taken ages making the album ?! and generally had a longer period of inactivity then ever before?. Dunno bout that, most of 2002 was used up with a combination of touring Get Ready, promoting 24 HrPP - including the release of Hear To Stay - and then Retro. 2004 has been used to record the album so yeah, they pretty much took 2003 out to recharge. But what's the point in being a successful musician if you don't take advantage of the personal freedom it affords you. Can't knock 'em for that. Well I could, but I know I'd do the same thing in their situation.
Bands also tend to take longer over albums the longer they've been around. When you've got a few quid in the bank and a young family to spend time with, the motivation to haul your ass onto the promotional treadmill that a new product demands just can't be the same.
And Steve, trust me, we won't get a new single BEFORE xmas. That would be commercial lunacy and London won't be doing that, Factory might have , but London? no way. Expect a single 2 - 4 weeks before the album's due.
The next couple of years could be quite busy for them again. Through touring the new album and general promotional work followed by the attention that will focus on them when one [or two?] Ian Curtis films hit the street. London won't miss an opportunity like that to deliver yet another JD re-package under the guise of an OST!.

I booked a ticket and train fare for this one a few weeks back. All sorted thru the Supporters Club, one phone call and they do the rest. Just turn up at Kings X and the tix are handed over. Only, turn up at Kings X for the 8.10am train! to make sure we're walking the streets of Leeds in readiness for opening time, so some method in the madness. However, as my connecting train from East Croydon sailed out of the station with me still running down the platform at 7.28am, the only clean sheets I saw were back under the duvet [no gags please ;)].
And a Brian Deane 4 bagger!! that's not so much a collectors item, more a museum exhibit along side Dodo feathers.

Can i just add that when i hit my FORTIES i took 3 whole years to work again because i got a little DOSH and so thought WHY NOT.With NEW ORDER even bothering to make MUSIC FOR THE MASSES(well us 2000) at all is a great credit to them.Hope the CD comes out on the 25th MARCH but i doubt it.Just as long as the COVER ain't WHITE cos this is so hard to KEEP minty mint.Even when you are on the ROCK 'N' ROLL as i am most of each year you need time off from DUSTING the collection.Heaven forbid i might even PLAY their NEW songs for once.Doubt it though cos i am still playing FAC 53.Still you can't rush a good thing! Sorry but I've been busy as I would have interjected before.
When I spoke to Hooky at Get Loaded this month he told me that the new album would be out in March. There's my 2 pennys worth.
In reality, we know that this could mean March 2006 at the earliest.....
