I covered this thread in the pet shop boy forum, and this forum is more appropiate. So what do you like on next new order album?

I pick more Dance music than Rock, about 75% Dance, 25% Rock.

It HAS to be half of each..

We don't want another Republic, and no one really wants a Get Ready 2, so something along the lines of Technique or Low Life, without duplicating their earlier material.

Meh. Long as it sounds good it could be jazz for all I care.

I would like it to be more experimental dance music rather than rock. I wouldn't mind a top to bottom dance record as long as its more Technique than Republic.

Euphoric or melancholy, I don’t mind.

Quality is the only quality I ask for. (There have been many great euphoric synth-rock and guitar-based rock albums in the past, many great synth-pop and dance albums too, so I am more than prepared to take anything of genuine integrity that is offered to my ears.)

I'm still reeling at the thought of the PSBs doing a raaaack album!

From what little I remember from talking to Hooky, I did get the impression the new album was gonna be kinda ROCKY IV:D

More guitars, that's what we want!

And if they could play Age Of Consent at the next set of gigs....

I'll get me coat:uhoh:

Yea it is a bit more rocky, still melodic though, so more of a mixture between GR and Technique.

Although a BIG dance fan i want this album to be ROCKY and loads of BASS guitar. With a lovely coloured sleeve in 43 formats so i can moan about not owning them all till at least APRIL! ROCK MICK MICK ROCK ROCKET SAUSAGE ROLL.

I picked the "Don't give a rats arse!!" button. I'm happy with NO putting out whatever in the fook THEY want to put out.

No preferences other than 'Out before I fooking die of old age'!!!!!

Im guessing its gonna be 50/50. with loads of shite dance remixes on the singles (oh how i hope thats not true!).

I'm happy for half & half, but it would make a nice change if someone did a rock mix of a dance tune for a change instead of lifting a vocal sample and putting it to a TB303 loop, that just sucks ass.:nonono:

I want it to be like Low Life and I wanna see them live :smoking:

ok, where does Soundtrack fit? because if i have to choose what i´d want, i´d say i want them to explore in that direction. but that won´t happen so i´d choose rock over dance. just look at them in the last 5/6 years (Electronic and Monaco included), that´s what they want to do. and they´re happy about it. put 511 on and check out their energy playing rock versus dance tracks. it´s clear to see nowadays they enjoy more playing rock than electronic.

it doesn't matter to me, as long as i own it.

Haven't they always done a bit of both? That's why so many people like them, no?

I love that album, my favorite.

Low Life was the recording of their new live songs that were never recorded. Much could be said of PC&L but at least it felt more conceptual than Low Life, especially the much cursed US cd release that has Blue Monday right after 586. In defense of Low Life only one song was ruined when the tracks were laid, the Aborted Kiss. All the others sound perfect unlike PC&L's We All Stand which is a great song live but a POS on the lp.

It should be more National Socialist anthems like 'World in Motion.' "What you're looking at is the Master Plan," indeed. :D

I just hope it's Revenge of the Sequencers. They need that sound back.

I also do not really care, although I might be dissapointed if it does turn out like a GR-2.

whats wrong with get ready. It disappoints me whenyour fave band comes out with something different, it "sucks" to your opion and not seem to give it a chance. You guys seemed to be programmed to like the dance or pop version of New order. I like get ready, my afve NO track is on that album "Someone like you"

Because Get Ready is dull and unoriginal. I like New Order doing dance music because I like dance music... end of. Unfortunately I don't think they will be doing and I'm half expecting a Get Ready part 2. No coincidence that my least favourite New Order albums are the more guitar-based ones e.g. Brotherhood, Get Ready.

Don't get me wrong though, I really like some of the guitar-based tracks and I think the guitars work really well on the dancier tracks too.

I don't think most fans would be feel fulfilled with a GR-2. I'd like to think the band wouldn't be fulfilled with producing a GR-2. I never said I didn't like GR (rts excluded), I just said I'd be dissapointed with a GR-2.

A selfish opinion, but thats the way it goes.

Don't worry Richard, we're not all like that - I'm into both sides of the band and I'd like the new album to be half of each. BTW, I like Get Ready too.

As long as its original, I'll be happy. For me, there's something to love in all the NO albums & GR would be one of my favourites (with Technique & PC&L).

So, I go for 50/50 - whatever the band want it to be.

i'd prefer something more rocky with proper guitars and that. maybe then we would'nt get as many "crap" remixes! regards

Personally, I would love an album with more Other Two's input... Here To Stay and Hooky´s collaboration with Hybrid can give some hope... But in fact a very good album, as they always have done, can make me happy.

Yes, my favorite album is Get Ready. Secondly, very close, Technique.

I like to hear a rap from New order, like Feel Every beat :thumb:, not like track 9 of Republic . Or Backing vocals from the gang.

a RAP ?!!?

I really don't mind. I first got in to New Order via some of the dance stuff but I think I would prefer a good mixture.

A bit of variety can't be a bad thing so i'm gonna sit on the fence :)
