hi everyone,
i just receieved an email purporting to be from david sultan.
The title of the mail was i'm in love inc attachment.
The mail had a zip file attached that contained a VIRUS!
IF you do get mail alegedly from mr sultan DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHEMNT(S)!

I looked into this further and found out that mail from wim is ok. the virus is a worm that utilises address books / domain names etc. this is the way it spreads. ALL MAILS FROM WIM IS OK!!!!!!!!

Coupla weeks ago one of the admin's had a prob cos I got a mail with every address for every member in the CC ( not bcc) section.
Might I suggest the use of evolution or kmail :-)
Could be worst, I already received a mail from MYSELF with a virus.
Technically, you just be in a mailing list where someone had a virus that extracted all the email addresses in the mailing list and send mail "as" those emails... so the owner of that email address has nothing to do with it.
Lucky for me, I know when I get spam or viruses, as my friends speak in french :p
But these days, it seems I'm a member of each and every US banks... some fraud look pretty stupid when they are out of their context.
Just as Spotnick said, viruses get into someone's address book and email themselve out witha aonther's addy. Anything with a an attachment is suspect anyway. If it is an exe file most likely it is a virus.

If the guy getting a strop on with ME reads this he may understand HOW he got a E-MAIL from me.I don't send ANY attachments to ANYONE so don't open them with my E-MAIL.I only send a message or a PACKAGE.Ain't it funny when people get all HARD when abusing you by E-MAIL.Doubt he call me such in THE BLOB SHOP though! I've had several of these fookin emails as well, I never send attatchments unless someone's requested something specific. Please remember this:)
