I just bought a beautiful copy of Joy Division's-Still.
Towards the end of the song, passover, it sounds like there is either something wrong with the records or my records jumps a groove. Can somebody get back to me on this because if it's the records I am going to be pissed.

Mine sounds like it skips a bit on the word "feverish" aboout two thirds of the way through, is that where you heard it?
Yes. That is exactly where mine seems like it skips. I suppose it is an error in the recording and not the record?

I think so, haven't seen any confirmation any other place though.
One other Still question, for those who have the vinyl edition: I haven't played my vinyl for years, taped it and then played that when I wanted to listen to it. When this thread came about, I pulled my copy out and noticed that on side three, the song Twenty Four Hours is not listed on the sleeve, though it is on the record. Is that the way it is on all of the albums, and CDS as well I suppose?

It certainly is NOT listed on the VINYL.Thought i had an early GEM on my hands back in 1980.Alas no...mine has BLUE MONDAY on it too!Has YOURS?
My version of Still on Vinyl also "skips" in a couple of places, and if you listen closely enough, it would seem the master copy was on a vinyl record itself....or maybe that's just me!
To be honest - I've not listened to the CD fer ages, so I'm unaware whether the same tracks skip on a second or two. I will put this to the test tonight
The old gatefold sleeve, yes 24hrs is missing from the labels.
Anyone else have this: on my one the 'circled f' logo is not complete - that is, parts of the (white) logo are missing so that you can see parts of letters within it.
Most interesting thing about the Still version of Passover is that it features one of those rare occurrences, a genuine Steve Morris mistake. This is what some of you may be thinking is a skip on the CD or the vinyl, but it is actually a mistake by Steve (it's on the audience tape of the gig as well). It's unbelievable that they left it in, seeing the other post-production that took place on the live recording (as listed in depth at JD Central).
Got's me the Hessian bound version...nay on any skips. Some weirdness during the live portion though.

Not really. Steve could be a little erratic in the JD days. (e.g the fluff at the start of Disorder on the Bains Douches gig)
'Still' doesn't include 'Twenty Four Hours' on the CD, but it is, indeed, on the vinyl, albeit uncredited. Apart from the ultra-rare 'She's Lost Control' 12" mispressing (with a couple of additional tom drum hits at the start), the 'Still' version of 'Twenty Four Hours' is the only Joy Division track not available on CD, fact finders!

Cor, you learn something every day! I never felt the need for Permanent, so I haven't a clue what's on it. I have never seen a CD of Electric Circus - I love my old blue vinyl anyway.

True, but his mistakes are collectors items compared to Hooky's bass flubs, the odd bum note from Barney and whole lyric nightmares from Ian!
Talking of improvised lyrics, anyone noticed Ian's Sound of Music Barneyism? Can't remember which show it's from, but he definitely says "person unrealistic tries to suck my big dick, I can't see it getting better!"

Glad that I learned from this thread, actually checked out Joy Division Central for the first time last night, and noted that Twenty Four Hours wasn't on the CD. As a result, the vinyl Still has moved farther up on the "never sell" list.
