to be honest you can find most of the videos anyway but I would definately like to see more live stuff--from the 80s

i just name at least 21 videos i know thats out there,
I have put 23 New Order and related videos onto DVD, and called it REAL SUBSTANCE, it aint dvd quality but they are all in one place and the disc has a menu and chapters.

i just name at least 21 videos i know thats out there, I know New Order has a lot of videos and I've seen most of the above, but the band hasn't had all of the videos relased on one video cassette or DVD. The Pet Shop Boys did that with PopArt and Smashing Pumpkins has their Greatest Hits 1988-2000 DVD with all their videos on it, but New Order's videos are just scattered about.
for a NO with side project collection (and the JD live as well), it would have to be packaged as a double dvd collection for it to work)

The Side project stuff is so crap, especially with that TWAT Neil Tennant, I mean how can anyone take them seriously with him present.

Bit harsh isn't it? The first Electronic LP contained some really good electronic pop music, and I know lots of people on this board find their liking of NO goes hand in hand with their liking the PSB too. Personally speaking I'd much rather have some new side project material than some dreary New Order live DVD with Barney murdering JD classics (Digital anyone?). The side projects had alot of worth and not just musically, they allowed NO to get away from each other without splitting for good. If they had been forced to remain together doing the tedious three yearly demo/album/tour cycle (as perfected by U2) then they would have permenantly split by now, period. Besides there are a whole raft of SP songs that kick the shit out of certain NO numbers, with examples from all four side-projects.
Anyway, back to the post point, London can't really do a New Order + side projects DVD because they didn't buy the rights to Revenge's back catalogue, Monaco were on Polydor, and Electronic spent most of their career on Parlophone. Different & unrelated record labels y'see? The only side project they could include on a release with little hassle would've been TOT.
Frankly, I've found that most of NO's video's were a bit shite, the only ones I rate are TPK, Regret, and of course True Faith. 60 MPH was good for comedy purposes but the song's still rubbish.

nothing wrong with neil tennant. He is the PSB, you know, britain's most successful duo, sold more than New order more albums than new order. (But new order has the most successful 12 inch record ) :)

I AGREE.Also i own REAL SUBSTANCE which does what it says on the TIN.Well done MIKE for this.But i too prefer the LIVE gigs.

I like the vids. I also like the live stuff. BTW most Order vids do include some live footage which is interesting, ie Run.
Videos yes! No stupid side projects, they all suck. The first electronic album was pretty good, also the first revenge was ok... after that they got about as useful as "The rest of..."

Personally, I believe that a lot of their videos are great. Save for that silly dramatic segment(which is still kind of funny), the BLT video is a work of art, IMO. Additionally, the original Blue Monday video has such wonderful early computer graphics and the Confusion video is an interesting snapshot of the early 80s in New York.
The idea of watching those videos at a higher resolution than a Quicktime movie or VHS tape seems quite enticing to me. __

Digital Mike... how can one obtain a copy of Real Substance?
If there's any about, it might be interesting to see some live DVDs of gigs from Electronic, Monaco or Revenge. I know that Steve & Gillian never toured to promote any of the Other Two stuff.
