Definately i will be getting Music for Pleasure. But mysteriously the second album is hard to find and expensive, the closest i can get is amazon.com for 29$ US or 36 canadian. Steep, so is it worth getting the second monaco album?

I tried buying it in the store but the import version they had to specially order in was nearly $40. Can you say "Ebay" ?

It's I think better than the first. So, defintely worth getting. I managed to find one in Melbourne the other week. Someone here should be able to run you off a copy. Not me though, as due to technical limitations I can't.

I think it's worth it. I feel it's more consistent but with lower highlights than Music for Pleasure (if that makes sense). In other words, there's nothing as weak (in my opinion) as 'Blue', or 'Billy Bones' on it but nothing quite as strong as 'WDYWFM', 'Shine' or 'Happy Jack'. The 2nd album is definitely worth the money for 'I've Got a Feeling', 'A Life Apart', 'Kashmere' and 'Marine'.

I like this album. Well, the songs Gillian sings on. Don't care too much for Melanie singing. My standouts are: "Superhighways," "New Horizons," "Cold Feet," "Hello," and "Weird Woman". All in all, it's a really good pick-up. I got mine courtesy of a ROCKET. ;)

Oops, sorry! Saw the The Other Two thread listed and got my wires crossed! The Monaco album is indeed worth it; this is the one I got from a certain poster. There are some gems on it. "Kashmere" and "I've got a feeling" are the standouts. "Ballroom," "Berts Theme," "See Saw," "Black Rain," and "End of the World" are my other faves. There's only about three that I don't particularly care for that much. Still, even those aren't horrific. Pretty close in quality to the first album, in my feeble opinion. ;)

I think it is kinda 'hard-to-find' and expensive because its released on PAPILLION label, not your usual big label ppl... I bought mine when I was in Glasgow back in 2001....and when I took it back to Australia, I used to play pranks with my friends who 'like-New-Order-but-not-so-informed-onthings-about-New-Order' by burning them a copies each and told them that it was the latest release from New Order:evil4:....I remembered at that time, GET READY has yet to hit the shops.
