I suspect many people will be unhappy with the results for varying reasons, including me.

No joints Papa... you must decide on one for no.2.

You have objects that belong to me.

Be quick.

Originally posted by zico I have to say as an aside, that if Regret doesn't at least make the top 2 I will be most unhappy. Possibly even narky.

Zico have you voted?

The only way to avoid a nark is to vote... otherwise you may Regret it.

Patty... stop trying to coax the opposition into trading votes. Make your decisions and stick with it. The strength of your convictions is the only way forward.

Jeff has turned to the dark side... there is nothing more we can do about it.

Yes Paps.. no 3rds.

Your an old school fan so I'll let you off, but you have endangered the list by introducing extraneous elements i.e. a 3rd choice. I repeat nobody else make this hideous and unforgettable error.

Poll closes 4pm GMT and I noticed Booster the Rooster Cogburn has not laid his best 2 tracks as yet... surely Buster the Booster isn't going to let us down?... is the decision too tricky?

Dunno about Buster the Rooster Booster or whoever, but our good friend the Klump has posted - one was BLT,can't remember the other.

Not much off GR yet. Crystal was in my thoughts though

Hunstah,

Maybe you could deduce from the responses which im assuming you will collate into some assemblence of order, which album appears to feature the most popular tracks...

Might as well strike Grrrready off the list right now.

OK, Huntsy, it appears Jeff has rejected my offer.

So after much soul-searching and CD listening, my two choices are:

  1. Leave Me Alone

  2. Temptation

Runners-up (these are not thirds, Huntsy, just runners-up):

Age of Consent, 586, and This Time of Night

This Time Of Night..

Good taste my friend!, that made my short list and came soooo darned close... just edged out by the power and bitter anger in FaceUp.

Well, Inta Don, I like Face Up a lot. As I've said before, "Guess what I'm gonna do to you" is one of the very great moments in all NO. I guess I decided This Time of Night has the edge because it's a little more serious, and plenty bitter too: "You search your empty brain in vain," for example.

Well done Patty... you can rest now after such stupendous choices. Incidentally, The Time is Night is also another fave of my own... your right, it has serious depth and a gritty edge of paranoia. Its wonderful. Melancholy ahoy.

I will attempt to squeeze as many titbits from the poll results International Donald... never fear, I wouldn't miss the opportunity.

Thanks, Huntsy. You know, in a prior poll when you asked for two tracks per album, I picked four from Low-Life, and I'm not even sure if This Time of Night was among them. Now it seems to me it captures the essence of what makes NO special and great.

Indeed, and "now you must decide, what goods a lie when you've nothing to hide" also made the choice ever so more agonising... but... "You took me a little further..." just blows me away everytime i hear it!!

Sooner Than You Think deserves a mention as well in the runners-up stakes as it nearly beat Tea Leaves Like Us into my second place spot.

Sonner than We All Thought is always a top tenner for me, as is The Time of Night is Not Now and various other things. Tempting Miss Daisy as voted most recently by the Kung Fu Kid now hoists the song to a level not seen since Kong climbed The Empire State building on his way to avoid the tax man.

Snakes Round the U-Bend and Dreaming about Attacks is a highly commendable recommendation and he deserves a mention for sticking his slippery neck out the little grass cutter.

Ceremony... in a quite astonishing move, seems to be putting up an almost unbearable fight.

Perhaps this post should have had a parental rating... but that would exclude Patrick so maybe not. Unless it was PG 13.

Moon Beast your decision to leave Tempting Miss Daisy from your top 2 leaves me cold and embarrased on your behalf.

Discuss.
