Manchester's best live music Venue has got together with it's best musicians to show our solidarity with the victims of the South-east Asian Tsunami and raise much needed funds in the process.

Love from Manchester is the brainchild of local musician John Robb and artiste manager Gary McLarnan, who have used their extensive combined contacts within the local entertainment industry to pull together an amazing bill of live music and DJs. Already confirmed are Mercury Music prize nominees Elbow, local heroes I Am Kloot, influential Factory Records veterans the Durutti Column and on the 1's and 2's Graham Massey (808 State), Andy Votel (Twisted Nerve) and The Earlies. At the time of writing some VERY major local artists are confirmed but for contractual reasons are unable to be named......

All parties involved from the artists, venue and production companies down to ticket agents are donating ALL profits to the Disasters Emergency Committee Tsunami Relief Fund.

just booked mine now,going to be a big week for me that one,22-20's on fri 21st then i'm flying to amsterdam on the wed for a couple of days and while we're there we're watching kasabian at the melkweg on the wed,back on the fri and going to watch the killers at the academy,then that one on the sunday,i just hope that the new order tickets dont go on sale that week or i'm screwed!!

try and get in early for the 22-20's support Lee , Nine Black Alps , if you aint seen them before I'd recomend them , they'll try and blow the roof off , it wont be long before they start touring in their own right , be a good start to my weekend for certain, hope it's a good start to your week

yeah we usually do go in for the support acts in academys 2&3,only costs about 170 a pint downstairs in the union,wouldnt it be good to see new order in there? never going to happen but tou can always dream:D

Monaco were on a few years ago , good gig , nice little venue it just about accomadated the guest list , which was feckin huge , lot of banter between Hooky and Twinny in the audience

Its being headlined by The Charlatans and Badly Drawn Boy.

Just knew the charlatnas would do it. No doubt Damon Gough will take this opportunity to play a load of songs that no one wants to hear, instead of playing his decent stuff.

well, silent sigh, once around the block and disillusion are good songs. There are other alright ones. The problem with damon is, that he has the unmatched abilty to suck the life out of a crowd by playing on his own acoustic iin the middle of 'harder' more livelier acts. Witness Move 2003. if he does this at the apollo, which i think he will, he will suck the life out of the place.

Yup, during his set in Move I decided to paint a fence then watch it dry.

Not now I'm not. Cost an arm and a leg to get there, and with no Order it ain't worth it (even if I do need to see John Robb about something separate). Ticket ain't arrived yet anyway!

Assuming that that is the confirmed line up. Does Damon Gough class as a very major local artist? And what happenned to the charlatans? I also read that Elbow would be playing acoustic, which is a bit crap really.

Down the front for ACR, all twenty minutes of them, and then probably just walk around talking to random people.
