Is there are difference between the Shep Pettibone and Morning Sun Extended mixes on the original True Faith 12"? The discography here doesn't list the Morning Sun Extended Mix (only the edit) and from listening, I can't tell much a difference between the two, so I wonder if they are the same.

Taken from the New Order Discography at htto://www.niagara.edu/neworder:

The tracks "the morning sun remix/edit", "the morning sun extended remix", and "alternate faith dub" are the same as the tracks "7 inch", "remix 12 inch", and "True Dub", respectively.

Ah, thanks. It looks like the Morning Sun Extended remix is just the American title for the Shep Pettibone remix.

Yep,they are the same mixes. But i think you knew that all along Derek...:brow:

Don't bother with the mix on the soundtrack to "Bright Lights, Big City". It's just a fade of the 12"/Morning Sun version.

I've always found it unnecessary that there be 1 million mixes that sound like the Shep Pettibone mix, with a difference of maybe 10 or 20 seconds between the lot of them. Especially when the original is better.

Er... I make it just three versions, not a million... That's the 'Remix', 'Dub' and 'Remix 7 Inch' - excluding the 'Bright Lights' fade and those dodgy Razormaid edits.

The 'Remix 7 Inch' is a piss-poor edit, by the way - misses out a third of each chorus!
