Film sequel

Simple, it would be a film about new order after they found Ian that "Blue Monday."

the sequel could have the resurrection of Ian to start another incarnation of Factory, rebuild the Hacienda, and to battle Barney for control of the band... prolly be mostly fantasy thou, but then so was 24 HPP

A movie about New Order would be nice. Then again, 24 hour party people would've been better if the second half was NO, instead of the Mondays.

Sure, why not include the suicide. If the film Closer is geared for all audience, the non-fans, they would need to know how and why Ian died. To them, without the suicide, the film wont make sense. Blue Monday be about New order. Barney's addiction to cocaine, the Hacienda club and probably upto the time when Barney wanted to his own thing which pissed Hooky off. And they did Revenge and electronic and eventually Other Two. The End

Ive always thought the idea of doing a sequel to Touching From a Distance (or whatever the JD film will be called) would be really good.

it could begin with the recording of Movement, with the band getting out of Ians shadow. We'd see them do Blue Monday and follow thier rise to the top at the late 80s. We'd see concert sequences, tour blunders, Barney's alcohol and drug problems, the rise of the Hacienda.

Also, there would be a 10 min section of the film devoted to the USA Technique Tour, where Barney does tons of Drugs.

Also, since Public Image Limited toured with New Order on that tour, we could see some great backstage scenes of Johnny Rotten Lydon (replete with a neon suit) engaging in hijinks with NO. Very funny stuff. And it would be cool cause Lydon and the Sex Pistols inspired JD anyways.

We see the band fall apart during the Republic tour, and the film ends on an up note with them reuniting for the Reading 98 festival.

I think it would be a great sequel... especially if it had a great cast.

I would like to see this. It would be a difficult film to make though. Who would you focus on? In 24hpp they focused on Wilson. I doubt this can work again as he wasn't involved from say the Republic era, Gretton perhaps, but then the film would stop before they got back together. If you just focused on the band Barney and Hooky would surely demand equal time.

but it wasn't a film about new order. it was about tony wilson, hence the progression from JD to happy mondays. i know i'm beating a dead horse here, but you can't forget the plot!

Eh I don't care if movies are made because I already know what the story lines would encompass. Instead of movies why not have a Nu Ordah reality show :p All cast members on the next Big Brother UK.

The film should be a romantic comedy starring Jim Carrey and Wynona Ryder as Steve and Gillian and be titled "Age of Consent".

Opening shot of the film is Ian's feet dangling in the kitchen as title track plays over Nightclubbing.

A film about New Order would be fucking boring. I'd gladly watch any documentary about this band but wanting a film featuring actors dramatizing these events is ridiculous.

awe, No new order, then we shouldnt have the film of JD. Because the story of JD doesnt end with Ians death.
